Kamitic Spirituality 101

12 05 2016

Hetepu (Peace & Blessing) Family.

I recently received an email asking that I explain the difference between the subconscious and superconscious, and how it relates to Kamitic spirituality, so I thought this might benefit others as well.

Blank Chalkboard

When we are born, our mind (subconscious and superconscious) is like an empty slate. Besides the normal subconscious programming which is used to regulate our heart, digest food, etc., we have no programming until our parents begin to tell us what to and not to do. As we grow, our subconscious mind is given a list of do’s and don’ts, which it associates with certain emotional experiences. We learn not to put our hands on the hot stove because we will burn ourselves and to look both ways before crossing the street, and all of these rules that we learned from our parents, grandparents, etc. are stored in our subconscious. We also have rules that we have created ourselves based upon our preferences. For instance, if you do not like Brussel sprouts, this becomes a rule that you tell yourself every time you see this vegetable. There are also other rules that are stored in your subconscious based upon your experience. For instance, if you were bitten by a dog, then you create the subconscious rule that all dogs are bad animals. If you saw your parents fighting, then you create the subconscious rule that parents are supposed to fight, and so on.

All of these rules basically become the programs that run your life, which you mistakenly identify as “You.” So you tell people things like, “I don’t do dogs” only because you had a negative experience.  You may say, “All men are dogs” or “All women are gold diggers,” etc. due to your experience, which steers you away from dating certain people. You may have been told when you were a child by your parents “I don’t have any money for that. Money doesn’t grow on trees.” So the subconscious rule is created where you think that in order for you to make any money. You have to struggle and work hard, which prevents you from starting a multi-billion dollar business.

Chalkboard

So, you have all of these rules that exist in your subconscious like writings on a chalkboard, which dictate to you what you should and should not do. You believe you can and cannot achieve a particular goal because you have never experienced it or have seen anyone in your immediate circle achieve it.  Let me say that again, everything you tell yourself that you can or cannot do is only because your subconscious mind does not remember any of your family members, friends, people in the community, etc. achieving this same goal. Therefore you tell yourself: “I will never be in shape” because you grew up in a household of people who were simply trying to survive so they ate unhealthy foods and lived unhealthy lifestyles.   You may say, “I’ll never be wealthy” or “I will never get out of the hood” because your subconscious reminds you of your parent saying, “Money doesn’t grow on trees” and it does not remember anyone being wealthy, so it tells you it is impossible.

For the most part, you believe everything your subconscious tells you because it has been telling you what to do all of your life.  Your subconscious is responsible for you living thus far, so it rationalizes with you by asking “Why would I tell you wrong?” You therefore succumb to your subconscious and believe everything it tells you can and cannot do because your subconscious is like a slate with a bunch of information and doodles on it.

Then something happens. One day you cross paths with someone who used to be in the same situation you are presently in but they changed. This could be anyone who overcame an addiction to someone who escaped the streets and is now a millionaire.  It could be someone recovering from an illness, etc. Whatever the case, you read or hear about people who changed their lives and this offers a glimpse of hope. Because what it means is that if they did it, you can too. Since your subconscious does not have the ability to reason, it will tell you that it is impossible to do what these people have done. Or it will rationalize with you by saying that you have to have special talent, be born with a certain gift, luck, etc. in order to get ahead but when you read about these people’s lives you learn they are ordinary people with similar struggles as you.

Blank Chalkboard

A more in-depth study into these peoples’ lives reveals that these people tapped into the mind beyond their subconscious, or their superconscious mind. The superconscious mind is like the clean slate you were born with in the very beginning. It is the preconditioned, preprogrammed and pre-habitual mind you had when you were born. Think of this way. This was the initial state of your mind before you learned all of the rules that dictate to you how you are supposed to live now. In other words, before you were told what you “can” or “can’t” do.  Said another way, the superconscious can be thought of as before someone started writing on your “Wall.”

Anyway, people who managed to change their lives and do so over a long period of time simply learned how to return to that blank slate, the superconscious and give their mind a new rule.

How does the superconscious work? Well, trying to change a subconscious programming is an ongoing battle because as stated earlier, your subconscious is old and it will rationalize (argue) with you until you yield. If you think of the chalkboard or a dry-erase board analogy, you know that sometimes if you write on the board and do not erase it immediately. The previous writing stays on the board and is hard to get rid of. It stains the board.  Let me give you an example. Once upon a time, I wanted to do some capoeira conditioning in the morning because I wanted to lose a little weight, plus it helped with agility and would not require a lot of time. Not to mention that capoeira is fun, but as soon as I said, I want to do it. My subconscious gave me this whole list of reasons why I shouldn’t do it, like ‘It is going to be hard. You’re too old. You might break something. You got bad knees. You don’t really want to get up early to exercise,’ etc. You see, your subconscious knows what you like and do not like because it has been recording your memories since birth. But, I had to remind myself that there were capoeiristas doing capoeira in their 70s and 80s. In fact, Anthony Bourdain went to Bahia and interviewed a mestre who was well in his 60s (or older).  This meant it is possible to do any martial arts but my subconscious has never seen it so, it tried to convince me that it was impossible. So, you see the argument and excuses our subconscious gives us. It will tell you anything to convince you to go in the other direction.

What’s the solution?

BYPASS it!

Instead of wasting time arguing with your subconscious, simply bypass it and go to the superconscious. When I bypassed my subconscious and tapped into my superconscious, I simply focused on imagining how cool it would be to do handstands, flips or a role’ (cartwheel). I imagined what it would be like to meet some capoeiristas (players) and engage in a friendly game (jogo) of Capoeira. Now, I didn’t just visualize this and it happened because the subconscious governs our everyday life or what people call normal consciousness or beta state. I had to plant this seed when the subconscious was at its lowest and most vulnerable point, which is during twilight and in the evening. These are the times when your mind naturally enters into alpha state. Once I did it, I found myself waking up every morning with a new habit of doing capoeira conditioning. It continued do it until I decided I wanted to do something different.

I cannot tell you exactly what I did when I was in alpha state because what worked for me may not necessarily work for you. What I can tell you is that there are numerous methods that anyone can use that will plant a seed in their superconscious like using autosuggestions, sigils, meditation, repetition, symbols, etc. and these are only a few ways but there are a number of ways to bypass the subconscious.  That the uninitiated refers to as magic but it is simply occult science or what “mystery school teachings.”

The point of this post is that spirituality is all about reprogramming your mind and the most effective way I have found to accomplish this feat is bypassing the subconscious and tapping into your superconscious. Why argue with your subconscious on overcoming a habit when you start new by giving it a new rule?

bypass

How does this relate to Kamitic spirituality? Well, if you think about how our subconscious is adamant to change and will try its best to convince us to do everything that is contrary to what we want.  It is a great adversary, which is the reason the subconscious is symbolized as the Kamitic devil Set (Please do not make the error of thinking the subconscious is evil. Remember we need it survive. It simply lacks the ability to reason properly). Those who are familiar with Kamitic mythology will now understand why Set (or the devil) is consider the author (or god) of confusion, chaos and war.

Set: The author of confusion.

Set: The author of confusion.

The superconscious is symbolized as Osar (Asar, Ausar or Osiris) and it should now become clear that the reason Osar was so highly exalted was because he was the original redeemer that wiped one’s slate clean.

Clean Slate

Osar: The Kamitic author or divinity of purity and knowledge.

Therefore, metaphorically speaking, to bring about any change in our life we simply need to be like Hru (Heru, Hrw, Horus) and connect with our Osar.

HRU (Heru, Horus)

HRU (Heru, Horus)

So What Is Kamitic Spirituality?

I keep posting this question because people keep getting it twisted and bringing subconscious dogmatic religious, good versus evil or god versus the devil programming into the Kamitic mix. Thereby jeopardizing their ability to make some real strides spiritually. So I must say again, true Kamitic Spirituality is not about having a colorful name change, eating a particular diet and dressing in African attire, etc. None of this is going to make you more spiritual if you cannot control your mind.

It is not even about learning the history of the Kamitic people. Again, it is great and it helps if you know it but it is not necessary to practice Kamitic spirituality. It is not about trying to figure out why your enemy does what “he” or “she” does.  And last but not least, yet most importantly, Kamitic Spirituality is not about following anyone or joining a group.

If you’re looking for someone to follow, try following your Higher Self (Superconscious/Osar).

This is what Kamitic Spirituality is all about. This is Kamitic Spirituality 101.

Hope that helps.

Understanding the Kamitic Mindset

22 01 2016

Hetepu (Peace & Blessings) Family.

Greetings. It is good to see you here. As you have read in the Truth About Kamitic Spirituality, Kamitic/Kemetic spirituality is about conquering your lower spirit (or lower self), which is symbolized as Set.  As we have seen in previous post, the devil is not some entity running around with hooved feet and a pitchfork tempting you to do evil. No. The devil is inside of you and whatever you fear because he corresponds to our ego-self.

seth

Many of you are already seeing this and you are starting to understand that good and evil is about what part of your being you decide to invest in. If you choose to invest in your Higher Self, you are choosing to be “good” but if you choose to listen to your lower ego-self you are choosing to be “evil” rather you admit to it or not.

We saw based upon this spiritual understanding that we cannot trust anyone because we do not know if their intentions are good or evil. In other words, if an individual is following their Higher Spirit or Ba or their lower spirit – sahu or devil. This is the reason we must throw coins, shells, pull cards, and use pendulums, whatever oracle you can get your hands on (as mentioned in the Maa), to get a true understanding of peoples’ intentions.

To_Sleep_with_Anger_FilmPoster

A lot of you have got on board and see the truth of it. Some of us are still working out the kinks to make things work but we are getting back to our own because we are rediscovering our Kamitic/Kemetic Mindset.

What is the Kamitic Mindset?

It is real easy. What do you think the first Africans thought were when they realized they were in slavery? As you may have guessed, they certainly weren’t thinking how to make this place a better world. They understood one thing, which is that one man’s remedy is another man’s poison. Said another way, one man’s god is another man’s devil.

Our ancestors realized this in Haiti, which led to the Haitian Revolution but they lost their way afterwards because they tried to find ways to coexist in this system. Let’s review a little history, if you remember Gabriel Prosser, Denmark Vessey and Nat Turner, similar events took place as well. History tells us that someone in the camp sold out but only few of us have ever asked why this happens. When we get into the nitty-gritty we see that everyone’s idea of freedom is not the same. Some people want the freedom to coexist. Some people just want to be left alone, but when our ancestors were brought over here that’s not what they were thinking. Our ancestors wanted their world back. Let me explain.

Haitian Revolution

Haitian Revolution

To understand this we have to understand that the Western worldview is based upon limitation and it is limited by their “scientific” reasoning.  Simply put, if they have not observed it, measured it or do not physically hear it, in their mindset, it does not exist. As you already know, this worldview of course, is built on contradiction after contradiction which is the reason 60 or so years ago trans-fats were good, natural fats that have been used for ages like butter, tallow and lard were considered bad.  Yet, obesity, diabetes, hypertension, etc. during the early 1900s were at an all-time low when people were eating these natural fats. Go and look at the pictures, there were not a lot of people who overweight and unhealthy during this time.  Then, “they” switched it and it became good again. They tried to blame it on the fats but the rise in obesity was due to  a couple of things, sedentary lifestyle, trans-fats and one key ingredient – “sugar,” which was and is added to everything. That’s why Grandma and Grand Dad’s generation were still relatively healthy while eating the food that they grew up on. It was all a ploy to sell a man-made fat like Crisco. And, we see over and over and over again, natural things or things that work we are told is bad, so that they we can buy their “new and improved” man-made product. I guarantee you they will switch again and tell us somehow that olive oil is going to be considered bad and they are going to have this new alternative.

So the Western world is built on a limited mindset, but not the non-Western world. For instance, we have known for ages that there is a spiritual reality beyond this physical realm. We didn’t need to prove that it exists scientifically in order for us to deal with it. We know that when we see our ancestors in our dreams, that we have visited them and journeyed to the spirit realm in our sleep. We know it. This is our reality. We used to not care if other people agreed or believed as we did or not. We knew it was true because we have done it time and time again before the rise, unification and fall of Kamit.  But, you see, when Westerners took over, we stopped believing because they didn’t believe and did not have any “scientific” proof. They told us it was superstitious and a whole lot of us fell for it. They told us that what we did, didn’t make sense and we believed that what we did, didn’t make sense.

apic

But, now that their research tells us that whatever our subconscious/superconscious believes becomes our reality, we are starting to see and believe in our own thing once again.  We are starting to see that their world is based upon limitations but ours is not.  Our ancestral worldview was based upon unlimited possibilities because the Spirit is unlimited, which is how the pyramids were built. A lot of you feel it but you are being distracted by individuals trying to tell you that Maa is all about being moral and reciting the 42 Declarations, which is not totally true. We were moral people. Moses didn’t give us the Ten Commandments. He gave the people that didn’t have any morals the Ten Commandments.  This is why we have to ask ourselves that when our ancestors were brought over here did they think about morals? The answer to this question will help you to see that Maa is all about Balance. Pure and simple.

Our ancestors understood something that many of us are now beginning to see which is that one man’s remedy is another man’s poison.

Said another way, one man’s god is another man’s devil.

black-jesus

This is why our ancestors flipped the biblical script so that the Exodus referred to their liberation and they became the Chosen People. That’s the Kamitic Mindset. They understood that in this Western worldview everything was based upon a superficial understanding of universe that categorized everything into a simple dichotomy of good and evil whereas, they would always be seen as evil. It didn’t matter what “good” they did, in this worldview they would always be seen as evil.

I remember when I was young. I was all into the music and movies like most young people. When the music awards or film award shows came on, I had my favorite artists picked and they were never nominated. Then, when I watched the Malcolm X movie and Denzel Washington, channeled Malcolm perfectly (and I didn’t even know about channeling during that time but you could feel it). But Denzel didn’t get an award but he got an award for Training Day? That’s when I realized, this is their (the Western) world and no marches, no sit-ins, no boycotts, etc. is going to change that mindset because it was not built for us but for them. They wanted to remind people that we were thugs and that’s why Denzel got an award for being a crooked cop.

Why else do they continue to celebrate Columbus Day? Why don’t they tell the truth about the Amerindians? Why don’t they talk about slavery and the very mention of the subject is hushed up? Why don’t they want us to talk about the numerous slave rebellions that occurred in the United States alone, instead of promoting the idea that people just accepted their lot as slaves? Why do they always make it seem as if they were the only ones who fought in their wars in their film? Why in order to talk about other people’s contributions they need a separate week or month, and a whole book?  Can’t you see the patterns? The answer to all of these questions is that we’re not considered Americans. We never were and never will be despite the fact that the constitution says otherwise.  (Those of you in other countries aren’t considered Germans, Britons, French, etc. either.)

columbus

Denzel didn’t get an award for Malcolm X because it did not support the Western worldview of Black people being evil.

By Western worldview standards there is no way Malcolm, an ex-thug, pimp and drug dealer should have become a motivating force of real change, but he did.

malcolms

So if we are in our lows and we can bounce back and you see what we can do as Malcolm, imagine what we can do when we get into our highs?  Are you starting to see why there are so many traps set for us? Do you understand why nothing of spiritual worth is promoted?  Why the music is horrible? The movies are horrible and politicians keep going to the churches and mosques claiming that they are going to do better than the last guy? Do you see why they keep looking for ways to entertain us? I mean the best thing to come out in years in the movie theatre was a rehash of a movie that depicted us being evil once again, but in a faraway galaxy (I am deliberately not putting the name of this overrated film).

Come on? Even in a faraway galaxy black people are still evil? And, I mean no disrespect, I like the new actor but come on, he has no lightsaber skills but he has to save this girl Rey because she ties into his destiny? I mean they are not even hiding the agenda now. Meanwhile folks are talking about boycotting the oscars.  Why? Boycott so you can get a better role as a servant to help this establishment realize that they need you??? Aren’t you tired of this crap? Aren’t you tired of begging?

When you get tired of being treated horribly, that’s when you will realize that they are talking about you being the anger fueled “dark side” that they are trying to contain. We are the original DARK SIDE.

Osar as Lord of KAMTA (the Black Lands)

Osar as Lord of KAMTA (the Black Lands)

One man’s remedy is another man’s medicine. One man’s god is another man’s devil.

Our ancestors understood from the very beginning that they had to take their “thing” underground (hint! Underground) and beyond the superficial in order for it to survive today.  This is why they hid their orishas under (Underground) the Catholic saints.  I would even like to believe that our ancient ancestors along the Nile knew we were going to experience this which is why Osar is called the Lord of the Underworld. The Underworld (Underground) is called Amen Ta, Amen Ta means Hidden Land (Underground), which is another reference to Black Lands, hence KAMTA, the southern part of Kamit symbolized as the white Hedjet crown.

Osar Lord of KAMTA

The Kamitic Mindset is about not being afraid of the Dark, those unknown mysteries residing deep within the Universe, hence deep within your superconscious (deep recesses of the subconscious – Underground) mind.  We are cool with the Dark because all of our societies were built on this understanding, but the Western world was not, which is based upon superficial reasoning. Again, it is limited like the TA SETT (Red Lands) of a desert, which can only support a little life.

Npu (Anubis) - The Opener of the Way

Mock Npu (Anubis) Altar – The Opener of the Way

You have to understand that our ancestors left us all sorts of hints but no complete tradition was left so that we could go deeper into the darkness, which is where our ancestors and guardian spirits reside.

Maa Aankh

Those of you are starting to see the metaphysical world daily and understand that it is from the darkness comes the light, realize that true revolution occurs within. Let these people fighting for this worldview have theirs but I am tired of trying, how about you?

Kamitic Falcon - Hru

If you are tired of being a child of God and you want to be Man or Woman of God, you have to develop a Kamitic Mindset and realize that your salvation comes from doing that which your enemy does not want you to do.

Hope that helps.

My God Versus Your God

8 11 2015

Hetep (Peace & Blessings) Family.

Isn’t it interesting that most religions and their founders spent a great amount of time preaching and teaching about Peace.  Yet many of the adherents in these religions (historically speaking) have perpetrated the most atrocious and heinous crimes on humanity?

Extremist1

Have you ever asked yourself, “Why is that?”  Well, clearly the answer has to be that these individuals who claim to be devout followers of (whatever deity) they follow have no clue what Peace really is or how to acquire it because their respective religion has not taught them how to find peace within themselves.

You see, part of the problem (which is a major problem) can be found in the conversion process into these religions. For most organized religions (especially those in the Western hemisphere), the only thing a person has to do to become a devout follower is confess and/or proclaim their belief in the deity. The problem with this process is that the initiate has no actual proof that what they are proclaiming is actually true. They are simply relying upon what someone else tells them.

How do we know that a Deity (whatever name you choose to call the Divine) saves souls, improves lives, heals illness, raises the dead, etc.?  Let’s a go step further. Why is it considered blasphemous to even pose these questions?

I mean seriously if the Deity is all-knowing, all-powerful and everywhere, wouldn’t this Deity know that I was going to ask these questions and already prepared an answer for me? Wouldn’t the Deity know that it would be troubling to my faith in Him/Her? I am reminded of Malcolm X (El Hajj Malik Shabazz) who due to his troubled past with Christianity would never have become a Christian. I mean remember, his family had to relocate, had a cross burned on their lawn and later his father was killed by fellow Christians so there was no way he was going back to church. Don’t you think that the Deity was aware of this? The same can be said about other historical heroes and heroines as well.

amalcolm

I hope you see that religion is a man made tool to help us all understand the Divine but if it is not taught correctly it becomes a dogmatic tool of destruction used to validate one’s own fears and ignorance. God really doesn’t care what religion you belong to or not. People need to stop being spiritual children and become spiritual Men and Women by understanding that if their deity was really that powerful, why do he need you to defend his honor and fight his battles?

From: Are the actions of Christian extremists affecting the local church? https://storify.com/Laceywyndham/are-the-actions-of-christian-extremists-affecting

These are all questions that everyone should ask but usually fundamentalists gloss over this section and jump right into “It is a sin to do fill in the blank!”

It is always bewildering to me that we are taught to be independent, critical thinkers throughout our life. To ask questions, verify and find proof for how and why “things” work but when it comes to religion we are taught to just accept and believe because someone (the mysterious THEY people) said so.

Well, this is the reason so many people are leaving organized religion and embracing spirituality because spirituality is not based upon beliefs, opinions and theories. It is based upon cognizance, which is personal knowledge, awareness and practical experience.

See a lot of people think that cognizance means knowledge and that knowledge of self refers to studying books. I used to believe this as well when I embarked upon this journey.  No. Knowledge of Self means knowing who and what you are, what motivates you, what makes you tick, what makes you act/react, what works to maintain your physical-mental-emotional-spiritual health, etc. It is about KNOWING….the God/Goddess within YOU. You read a bunch of books to better understand YOU but essentially you are studying YOU.

Kamitic Falcon - Hru

True Spiritual people know that the real God/Goddess is within you and it has numerous names. True Spiritual Christians will call this awesome force as “Jesus in me” but I simply call it Osar (Asar, Ausar, Osiris in Greek).  True Spiritual people know that their greatest enemy is not someone they don’t like or strongly hate, but themselves – to be more specific their lower selves. This is why you will hear true spiritual Christians say they are fighting against their flesh because they know it is the part that makes them act out of hate. I call this fighting against Set (your lower self/spirit).

Maa Aankh Mind

True Spirituality as you can see is not about belief. It is not shaped by your opinions, the opinions of others, or some faddish idea. True Spirituality is about developing a personal relationship with the Divine within yourself based upon KNOWING.  This is why a true spiritual practitioner would never proselytize because they KNOW what works for them. They may have an idea, opinion or theory on what will work for someone else but they KNOW without a shadow of a doubt what works for them. And, if they don’t know, they are through trial and error trying to figure it out.

When a true spiritual practitioner honors his or her ancestors, they know the benefit the practice provides them. They don’t just do it because someone told them to or they saw someone else doing, so they are going to try it that way. By the way, they don’t just follow superstitious rules set by others either because that makes it a religion. They do what works for them based upon what they KNOW. As a sidebar, I personally believe that this is how the Kamitic people and other traditional Africans live their lives as well. I don’t believe that they honored their ancestors because it was just tradition or that they used oracles because it was fun or a good way to predict the future. No. I am quite certain that everything the Kamitic people did was for practical purposes. They understood and saw the benefit of honoring their ancestors so it became a national practice. They used oracles because these divination tools inform them on how to live their lives peacefully like the great oracles of Africa and China continue to do today. Simply put, it worked for them.

Where’s the proof? All you have to do is observe a true spiritual person’s living. They don’t live right for the public and live a secret life in private nor do they profess to be “holier than thou” and perfect.  They live right because they have a true connection with the Divine. They don’t just believe that temple of God is within. They KNOW.

Extremist4

Fundamentalists will always say that “(Some Deity) says blah, blah, blah” and will quote their religious texts as if it is the authority on every subject but, my Momma taught me to be a critical thinker so I always ask them “What do you say?” or “How’s that working for you?”

You see we have to start holding these people accountable because they will try to make it appear that true spirituality is a joke but this is a trick from Set (the devil) himself. You have to ask them that if their religion is so great why do they have to  convince and beat people over the head about it?  I mean have you ever seen a doctor jump up and down and threaten people to believe that he or she is a doctor? Let’s not even go that far. Have you ever seen a chef or a cook jump up and down to make people eat their food and convince them that their food is good? No. You use your senses. If it smells good, looks good and have heard good news about it, then that’s what makes you want to try it.  Why? It is because the proof is in the pudding.

Extremists of every denomination simply want you to go on what they (or someone else) says but it is obvious that their religion does not do what they claim because it is not doing it for them.

‘I mean really, your peaceful religion tells you to stand on the corner and yell at the top of your lungs, or knock on the door and disturb my time with my family to tell me that everyone is going to go to hell, or going to be punished by your temperamental all-knowing and all-powerful Deity (who can’t use all of his power to tell me himself) because I don’t believe like you. Get real.’

As you can see, true spirituality requires being a little agnostic or skeptical about everything. The beauty of it is that since God is all-knowing, God doesn’t mind because it is all part of spiritual development.

Osar as Lord of KAMTA (the Black Lands)

Osar as Lord of KAMTA (the Black Lands)

Everything and anything you do should always have a meaningful and logical reason behind your intentions. Never just do something just because or blindly follow anything because if you ever have to change (which you will) and you don’t understand the concepts behind what you are doing. Your peace inspired, loving practice or going to become your personal dogma beliefs to harm others who have different beliefs than you.

Hope this helps.

The Difference between Kamitic Spirituality and Western Religious Beliefs

29 07 2015

Hetepu (Peace & Blessings Family)

You know archaeologists, religious zealots and the lot would like people to believe that indigenous people all over the world just worship rocks, cows, trees, their ancestors, deities, etc. They would have you to believe that those of us in spiritual traditions are primitive and idol worshiping people.  And, that our entire spiritual way of life is illogical and based solely upon our feelings. That the Kamitic people just lucked upon the creation of the pyramids, medicine, mathematics, chemistry, philosophy, etc. That it was a fluke and that’s why the Kamitic civilization existed for thousands of years in peace.  In other words, they want people to believe that those of us in spiritual traditions are crazy.

Yet, nowhere in the history of the world is there a record of people who followed a traditional spiritual way of life raping, pillaging and warring with another, due to a difference in religious and spiritual beliefs. In fact, there is not even a record of this occurrence occurring in the Western world. Meaning you never heard of any ancient Greek, Roman or Norseman saying “I am going to kill you in the name of Zeus (Mars, Odin, etc.)!”

Zeus on Mt. Olympus molding the lives of men

Zeus on Mt. Olympus molding the lives of men

This never occurred until the three major Western religions came into existence. This is the first time that you hear or read of someone saying that they are going to kill another individual in the name of God (as if God can’t defend him/herself). In other words, it is the first time you hear of extreme religious fundamentalism.  In which you have a group of people saying “my god is stronger than your god!”

In other words, what they are saying is that “my beliefs are more important than your beliefs”, “my ideas are more important than your ideas”, “my way of life is more important than your way of life”, “my culture is more important than your culture”, “my people are more important than your people,” which means I need to annihilate you unless you convert to my way of life, my culture, my ideas, my beliefs”.

Arabslavers

19th-century European engraving of Arab slave-trading caravan transporting African slaves across the Sahara. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_slave_trade

That’s really what these religious zealots, fundamentalists and extremists are all saying and this is the premises of Western religious conquest.  It is the reason most of our ancestors all over the globe converted to Judaism, Christianity or Islam.  They didn’t convert to these faiths out of love. This is the reason it is heresy to ask questions about Jehovah, Yahweh, God or Allah.  It is the reason why one is labeled a heretic for asking or saying anything about the prophets or any discrepancy one finds in the religion.  This is mainly because most religious leaders in these religions don’t know the answers to these questions themselves because it is based upon beliefs, not actual practical experience.  It should now make sense why when you ask any religious zealot, any religious fundamentalist and extremist a practical question, they have to refer to their religious books.  They can never give you a straight, practical and wise answer because they don’t know. They never had the experience and don’t know how to access the wisdom to get it. You see they talk a good game about God being omnipotent, omnipresent and all-knowing but here is the proof that they don’t know God.

I mean think about it. If God is all – knowing and omnipotent, why do you have to defend God if someone says something that they don’t like? If God is so, all knowing, why can’t get their god to fix their community or country?  Why can’t their god stop them from fighting one another? Why can’t their god make them agree on one thing and unite all of their denominations? Why can’t their god solve their problems before trying to solve someone else’s? Not only that, why is their god so sensitive and easily offended? If their god is all knowing, why can’t their god let them ask questions or give them the answer before they ask? Why does their god become angry and have to threaten to kill them like an abusive parent to get them to praise him? It is because these people don’t know really know God for themselves and don’t understand that they are living in spiritual tyranny.

This is why they always have to refer to their books.  Now, if you went to a doctor and every time you asked a question, he or she had to look up in a medical book to give a diagnosis. Would you believe that they know what they are doing? Same holds true for these religions of the book because they were conceived out of fear. That is the fear of what might happen. The fear of the future. The fear of whatever…

fear

The Kamitic spiritual tradition (and all other indigenous spiritual traditions) was conceived out of love. That is the love of God, the love of one another, the love of family, the love of community, the love of nature, and so on. Our rituals are not done to appease an angry god. In other words, if we don’t do something it is not like God is going to strike us down or curse us. We don’t pray and do rituals to benefit God because the Divine is, that’s right – omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. What then would be the purpose of praising God? So the purpose of praying and doing rituals is to benefit ourselves, our loved ones, our community, etc.  We don’t worship our ancestors. The purpose of working with our ancestors is so that we don’t lose our selves. All of our rituals are based upon the some aspect of the energy of universal love and for the record, romantic love is just a fragment of this universal energy.

You see there are only two main energies in our universe and they are universal love and fear. The Kamitic sages were masters of symbols, which is why they symbolized fear as Set.  They understood that fear is based upon ignorance and therefore limited understanding of life. When you act out of fear, you act out of ignorance. You don’t know what you are doing because you are afraid. You constantly have to refer to books and manuals because you don’t have any real practical experience, so you must refer to another’s.  You are dependent solely upon the physical things you know.

Set of TASETT (from Maa Aankh 2)

Set – the Kamtic symbol for Fear

Universal love was symbolizes as Osar. The Kamitic sages understood that love is based upon knowledge. Knowledge is not a collection of books and texts. It is inner and outer knowing. When you act out of love you know what you are doing. You are driven to know out of passion. You are passionate about the subject you are interested in to the point that anyone can ask you anything about it, and you can answer. You know the subject inside and out because you not only believe it but you have lived it.

Osar from Maa Ankh 2

Osar the Kamitic symbol of Universal Love

This is the reason most people on the spiritual traditional path can give you a logical explanation for partaking in a particular ritual. The reason most of these people (and spiritual traditional practitioners all around the world) were called primitive in the first place, was because they could not explain their practices in a way that Westerners could understand it.  In other words, they couldn’t explain their complex and abstract ideas to Westerners using Western language. If these people were to use their own language, you will find that they had a scientific explanation behind everything that they did. We never hear about it because Westerners have convinced the world that logical thinking is a sign of intelligence and abstract thought is primitive.

Portuguese ship

Portuguese ship

This is how Westerners were able to convince all indigenous people that they were superior.  The story is the same all over the globe.  Every indigenous nation that Europeans encountered was amazed by their technological wonder and equated this (and everything Westerners possessed particularly their “perspective” religion because initially Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all derived from ancient African traditions) as a sign of greatness. We need to understand this because once you see that Westerners ability to create technological wonders has not improved relationships between men and women, cured diseases (since polio) or removed the threat of a nuclear war.  Then you will see the great Western illusion and realize that true power/greatness comes from within and stop giving your power to a system designed to oppress you. We have to realize that the only thing that is enslaved is our mind but by returning to our ancestral ways it can be liberated. Four hundred years can’t stop what has been going on for centuries.

chain-broken

This is why you can’t and you won’t find rich symbolism in Western religions because if functions out of fear and has a limited perspective.  This is the reason if you ask any of these religious zealots and fundamentalist why they must attend the synagogue, temple, church or mosque.  They are going to give the same answer which is to praise and worship God.  I hope you are beginning to see that all of these three major Western religions are based upon tragedy or the possibility of some imminent threat. Understand this is no different from worshiping a volcano and hoping it doesn’t erupt like Joe Versus the Volcano.

Maa Aankh Cosmology

Now, I know that there are benefits for engaging in the ritual practice of attending church or some other religious service but I am trying to get you to see the difference is in the focus and purpose. I am also trying to help you to understand why so many people are leaving these religions (or abandoning religion completely), while explaining that true salvation and liberation can be found in returning to our cultural spiritual traditions.

Understand, most religious beliefs are based upon an ideology, which means it is subject to change depending upon circumstances.  This is the reason there are so many religious denominations and so much politics in these religions. Not only that, these religious ideologies makes one totally dependent the religion, the state, and others because they learn that they can’t save themselves. Salvation must come from another. In other words, you are set up to be a slave or pawn in someone’s system.

amunt

Kamitic spirituality (and most spiritual traditions) on the other hand are based upon reality, which means they focus on achieving tangible results. Therefore, one learns how to be responsible and self-discipline.  Again, I must say that it is not as if individuals in spiritual traditions don’t have problems because we do. The difference is that we don’t just say and believe that God is omnipotent, all – knowing and omnipresent.  We believe that since we were made in the image of God and that God is omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient that the essence of the Divine is within all of us, and on a minute scale we have the same divine attributes. Our problems stem from us not knowing how to use our divine powers. We pray, do rituals, etc. in order to use our divine powers appropriately, so that we can improve our life, and therefore know from experience God for ourselves.

Hope this helps.

Why is the Devil Winning?

25 07 2014

Hetep (Peace) Family.

You know, part of the reason why it is so difficult for so many of us to move on with our lives and take control of our future is because we are stuck in the past. We are constantly spending time going over why something happened or it occurred. The lower division of our spirit called in Kamta the sahu (or the subconscious part of our being) makes us want to know why a thing occurred. It forces us to seek a “logical” explanation, so that it will not occur again.  It is sort of like the first time we touched something hot. It was our sahu that remembers the pain and reminds us so that we do not burn ourselves again.

But, there are something that can’t be explained by logic alone. For instance, a lot of people still ask the question why were some of the Native Americans in the Caribbean, North and South America defeated the way they were? Why did slavery occur? Really, because we are a spiritual minded people even when we don’t want to be, what we really want to know is why did God allow genocide and slavery to occur? In fact, let’s go a little bit deeper, why does God allow evil to exist? I mean really, why does God allow terrorists to bomb churches with four little girls or bomb mosques and other religious sites?

Many of us have struggled with these questions for a while now and the traditional means has not provided a good explanation. In fact, no matter how much information we learn, nothing seems to give us solace so that it will never occur again.

osar

Well, I have found that the best way to deal with issues in our past where a logical explanation is not sufficient is to lean upon the Story of Osar (Asar, Ausar, Osiris in Greek) for understanding and peace of mind.  In the Story, after Ra the grandfather of all things gives Osar the enlightenment he wanted to build a peaceful nation, and after Osar successfully unifies his people and builds a prosperous civilization. He is brutally murdered by his brother Set who usurps the throne.  (Osar by the way is associated with our ba or higher self, which is the explanation as to how and why Osar built a prosperous civilization. Set on the other hand, is associated with our sahu. This is the reason our past haunts us because it is Set who knows the weaknesses of our mind likes to torment us with it. Keep this in mind because we will come back to it shortly.)

Hru

Now, Hru (Heru or Horus in Greek), the hero of the story engages his evil uncle Set on the battlefield, but his victories are not consistent and most of them end in stalemates. In one epic battle, Set manages to get close enough to our hero and is able to gouge out his eye.  Hru I imagine, battered, blinded in one eye and hard to see out of the other, flees and finds his father’s old vizier Djahuti (Tahuti, Tehuti or Thoth).  Through magical means Djahuti repairs Hru’s eye perfectly.  As a result, today people from all walks of life happily adorn their bodies and themselves with this Eye of Hru because they understand that it is a symbol of protection but, why and how?

The Right Eye of Ra (Also known as the Solar Eye corresponds to literal and physical sight.)

The Right Eye of Ra (Also known as the Solar Eye corresponds to literal and physical sight.)

Well, the magic and the power of the Eye of Hru (also called the Left Eye of Hru) is based upon how we interpret the first parts of the Story. For one we have to understand that the Story is alluding to the concept that Hru only one eye or one perspective, which was based solely upon what he could physically see. This corresponds to the Eye of Ra, hence logic.

The fact that Ra, in this case, symbolizes the Creator and is Osar’s and Set’s grandfather could mean the farther one gets away from the Light or the Source, the easier it becomes to lose your way.  Another point that I want to bring out is that because Ra is the grandfather of both Osar and Set, means that the Creator is not bias and doesn’t see the world as we do in black and white, right and left, correct and incorrect. It is all relative to the Creator because to the Divine they are all two sides of the same coin. A while ago, it was put to me this way, that the same life energy that fills your lungs also fills the lungs of our enemies, which means the Divine stays out of the whole matter. One can say that the Divine sees the fight between Osar and Set as sibling rivalry. Think about that the next time you wonder why God allows certain injustices to occur, that the Divine has no say so in the matter.

scale-of-justice

This is because from a spiritual perspective, both good and evil are needed to justify the other’s existence, hence the whole good and evil dichotomy is actually a cycle where one experiences highs and lows. Note this is why Osar sought Ra in the first place because his people were wild and out (the low). Then Osar introduced to them the Maa and they became civilized (the high). Next, Set usurps the throne and forces the people back into a world of ignorance (another low). I am highlighting this part so that you can reflect back on your life and see the high and low periods in your life.  Note when you are in the highs or at the low points, because this is you life pattern. For instance, I have noticed that I usually get a lot of material blessings around February and March, which is my annual zenith. I can’t explain it, I just know that that is when one of them usually occurs and I have a second one as well. It is like I get a sudden burst of blessings then they wane like the waning moon. So chart your annual cycle. You can also chant your monthly, weekly and daily cycles as well. The monthly cycles are relatively easy because this is when most of us get a paycheck. Notice your energy level. Take note if things are exciting or chaotic because of bills. As with the weekly cycle, note how your energy is come Monday. Do you really feel blue on this Moon-day or is it because everyone say you do? Does Wednesday feel like a hump day, can you really see Npu at the crossroad of the week? Are you really looking forward to Nebhet’s Friday, and if so why? Really take a look and see how your energy level is during the day, week, month and year. See how it cycles or oscillates like a serpent or sin and cosine wave.

sincos

Now, if you have completed the above exercises, you will be able to really appreciate our hero in the Story. Part of the reason Hru exists is to escape that high and low energy cycle from above. In esoteric circles this is called transcending your horoscope.  Note using money as an example, we all love when we get some money, but don’t you hate when you don’t have enough money or the money you need to get the things that you want? Of course, because we all hate the lows. Wouldn’t it be great to not have any lows at all? I mean for instance, wouldn’t it be great to have the money you want to take care of your needs all year around and not have to live paycheck to paycheck? Sure it does.

The Left Eye of Ra (also called the Lunar Eye corresponds to intuition and spiritual sight, hence insight.)

The Left Eye of Ra (also called the Lunar Eye corresponds to intuition and spiritual sight, hence insight.)

Have you ever asked yourself why you have these lows? I means why is it so difficult for you to save money or keep enough money so that you don’t live paycheck to paycheck?  Have you ever noticed that when you try to save money there is a part of you that fights your decision and wants you to spend all of your money on the things you want? Notice also that every time you try to save your money, something always comes up unexpected? This is where Djahuti comes into the Story and reveals to Hru (by repairing his eye) that our universe was built upon the foundation of Maa.

Maat (the Personification of Maa)

Maat (the Personification of Maa)

Maa is Divine Balance, Order, Justice and the Absolute Truth.

This means nothing unexpected happens. It might not have been planned but nothing happens by chance.  That’s right. There is no such thing as coincidences in the traditional African worldview. Everything is based upon cause and effect regardless if you can see or understand it or not. The trick of Set is to convince us that our universe has no order and that everything is based upon what we physically see, but this is an illusion.  This is the reason Set rules over the desert region of  TASETT on the Maa Aankh, which is full of mirages or explained in the Christian lore as the lord of the earth and flesh.  Another interesting point is that the Right Eye of Ra corresponding to Ra moment hovering over TASETT, also represents logical thinking. Meaning, this is the reason logically we are not able to defeat our enemy because we are relying upon the same resources that our enemy uses, who is older and more powerful.) This is why in order to see past the illusion, we must remember that according to the Maa Aankh and other African cosmologies, that the physical emerged out of the spiritual, hence it is our thoughts, ideas, etc. that shape our physical reality.

Maa Aankh with Utchat

That’s correct. Everything that you physically see is basically the end product, the end or final result whose origins exist in the unknown, invisible, spiritual realm called KAMTA. Set would have us to believe that grasses, plants and trees just sprout of nowhere, thanks to the Maa and Djahuti the master of science, we know that all plant growth comes from a seed. This means there is a hidden reality beyond our physical reality that makes the things that we see manifest themselves physically. Hence, Hru’s eye is repaired.

The Eyes of Ra (Provide a Holistic Perspective)

The Eyes of Ra (Provide a Holistic Perspective)

As you know, once Hru’s eye was repaired he defeated Set on the battlefield.  No fuss. No muss, because now he has a holistic view, hence Two Eyes are better One.

I say all that to say that evil exists to show us our weaknesses, so that we can overcome them – that is the impurities within our soul.  As to why does God allow evil to exist. The hard truth for many of us to swallow is that God has no say so in the matter because the Divine gave us all free will through Hru.  This is the reason God will never physically appear before you and physically take a cigarette out of our hand because it is harmful to your body.  Nor, will the Divine take a bottle of poison out of our hands and prevent you from ingesting it. If the Divine saved us from our own unwise decisions all the time, how would we ever learn and take responsibility for our own life? How would we know how to manipulate fire to cook our food, warm our homes, fend off invaders, etc. if we never got burned?

seth

Set the Lord of Chaos, Confusion and Disorganization brings about losses to show the limitation of the physical realm or TASETT and the problem with relying solely upon what we see, which is represented by the Ra moment (Midday Sun – Life) falling and becoming Ra Atum (Setting Sun – Death, our spiritual death or demise) on the Maa Aankh(see above).

This is why I tell people all of the time, “God is not going to save you. The Divine created you Hru!”

Hru Osar and Set

Hru Osar and Set

Without Set, many of us would never seek the Divine from within and learn to overcome our own shortcomings. It is only when we get really tired of Set kicking our butt from one place to the next (in the physical realm) that we will flee to Djahuti (a wise elder, a master in the field, an oracle, etc.) for some wisdom, so that we can learn how to overcome our personal enemy using both physical and spiritual means. Once you learn how to overcome your enemy, like all lessons in life, you will never be haunted again by the past.

Have You Been Called? Understanding African Cosmology and the Calling Amongst African Americans

6 05 2013

Hetepu (Peace) Family.

Hope all is well. This is something that has really been on my mind since Malcolm X’s birthday is nearing and the rising disturbing actions and behaviors perpetrated by our youth in their desperate attempt to make money.  I have also wanted to address this issue about because some people have been asking if Kamta is a New Age thing.  So I have been letting this subject run around in my mind for a minute in order to address is appropriately.

Kamitic priest in leopard pelt

Kamitic priest in leopard pelt

Because shamanism has become such a very popular term to throw around by anyone claiming to be spiritual and not religious or refusing to follow the order of organized religion. I have decided to write this post to clarify, specify and distinguish Kamta from the New Age shamanistic movements. Please understand that I have nothing against New Agers because everything has its purpose, but I want to make it clear that this is not a trend.  I have to keep telling this story in order to raise consciousness, not because it is the trendy thing that is in fashion now, but because it is a Way of Life pertaining to my survival.

Portuguese ship

Portuguese ship

Kamta is a Spirit – led shamanic tradition based upon Kamitic (Ancient Egyptian) philosophy and Afrospiritual thought.  When the Africans were enslaved and brought to North America, unlike those taken to the Caribbean and South America, they were unable to maintain and retain all of their religious beliefs because their formal introduction spiritual system had been disrupted or simply destroyed. This along with the fact that there were various ethnic groups with different cultures and spiritual beliefs also made it difficult for the spiritual systems transported to Protestant Christian North America from Africa to survive. Fortunately, prior to the advent of the Slave Trade, many of the people from the Kongo region had willingly converted to Roman Catholicism or were at least familiar with the Christian faith due to their encounter with Portuguese merchants and missionaries.  Consequently, those Africans brought from the Kongo Angolan region were able to retain majority of their spiritual beliefs under the guise of Christianity. Although, they were not able to create or recreate a formal initiation system such as the ones that exist throughout the Afro diaspora, they were able to maintain an informal initiation system that follows what is commonly referred to as the Rule of the Sun.

Kongo_Cross

Kongo Cross (also called the Dikenga or Yowa)

The Rule of the Sun is based upon African Cosmology particularly the Yowa, Dikenga also called the Congo or Kongo Cross. The general understanding of the Kongo Cross is that the human soul like the sun rises, zeniths, sets and is reborn again to create another dawn. Spiritually speaking, we rise and peak in our awareness, but when we experience problems, setbacks, calamity, dishonor, illness, etc.  It is because we are spiritually dying or our sun/soul is setting in the West. The reason we spiritually die is because we have picked up impurities (egocentricities) from dwelling amongst the living in the physical world like selfishness, egotism, fear, etc.. So, spiritual death occurs in order to purify our soul. If we survive the problem, illness, fall from grace, etc.  It is believed that we have traveled to the spiritual world and were reborn like the dawning sun. So along with this core belief, early African Americans believed that when someone experienced a spiritual death.  It was because they were being Called to the spiritual world to obtain their spiritual gifts.  Although good and evil existed in the Kongo mind, the whole battle between the good and evil was seen as a way in which one finds his or her true Self.  In other words, it was seen as way to establish and maintain balance, so that an individual could learn to stand on the edge of both worlds.

Basic Kongo Cosmogram

Basic Kongo Cosmogram

Now the Calling in the African American community was similar to other shamanic societies, in the sense that those who were called at an early age displayed unusual birth signs such as being breeched, born with a caul over their head, having uncommon birthmarks and so on.  But, the most common form of calling in the African American community  was the fall from grace in which the individual after experiencing problems had some sort of epiphany or revelation.  This is because all adversity was seen as an individual going through a dying phase, because as one elder told me “You have to go through something, in order to get something.” This something that the individual must go through is of course the adversity and hardship of the physical world.  The something that the individual is going to get refers to their reward, their talent, purpose, destiny, etc. that will be obtained spiritually (or from the spiritual world).  This is why it is not uncommon to hear of individuals within the African American community today being “Called” to the pulpit to be a preacher.  In the olden days, the Calling was not just about being an evangelist.  The Calling pertained to doing any type of ministry (God or Spirit-led) work in regards to helping people in the community such as being a seer, a healer, prayer warrior, and so on.

Robert Johnson the Blues Musician Who Supposedly Sold His Soul to Play the Guitar

Robert Johnson the Blues Musician Who Supposedly Sold His Soul to Play the Guitar

Those familiar with African American folk beliefs will not understand the basis of Robert Johnson’s Crossroad Ritual and will now understand the reason what Johnson did was considered evil is because his blues music was not helping his community. It was only going to make him richer, which is why the man who allegedly teaches him was called the devil.

The Transformation from Malcolm Little to Malcolm X to El Hajj Malik Shabazz

The Transformation from Malcolm Little to Malcolm X to El Hajj Malik Shabazz

The Calling is a form of initiation based upon the Kongo Cross and it refers to being initiated and inducted into the spiritual fold to help the community. Like most initiations, which end of something old and the beginning or start of something new. It was understood that anytime an individual experienced any sort of unusual hardship, setbacks, obstacles, problems, etc. the individual was being Called.   This is the most accepted undocumented belief in the African American psyche.  It is the reason those individuals that have undergone a complete transformation such as the legendary Malcolm X (and a host of others), are so cherished in the African American community.  It is because African Americans like most people love a “comeback to grace” story and it is because the basis of our culture centers on the Rule of the Sun.

Because the Church became the most respected institution that white America during slavery (for the most part) would not meddle with.  Many of the people that were Called were given regular titles within the institution such as deacon, evangelist, missionary, etc. but there were also those who were known as Father, Papa, Poppa, Uncle, Brother, Mother, Momma, Auntie and Sister “so – and – so”.  Each of these individuals at some point in time assisted in the healing services that occur inside the church.

Contemporary Ring Shout

Contemporary Ring Shout

Like most shamanic traditions, African American religious service usually consists of a form of ritual called praise and worship, which consists of songs, music, dancing and trance called, filled with the Holy Ghost.  Next, the preacher that gives the congregation a message from God and at times can also include being prayed upon for healing using blessed oil.  The reason most people don’t think of it as being a shamanic trance induction service is because it is so norm and most people think that shamans are spooky witchdoctors running around with masks and bones in their nose chanting some unpronounceable language. A true shaman mediates between the spiritual world and physical world for his or her community. Everything that the shaman does is for the community because their spiritual development and advancement depends upon the people they serve. This is why typically those who were called in the African American community also did and continues to do something in regards to the church.

It is because of the Kongo Cross, anyone can participate in any form of African American spirituality (spiritual tradition, spiritual practices, folk practices, etc.) because it all centers on you going through something and surviving. It is simply put a spirituality that is based upon survival, which celebrates one’s success or victory over adversity.  And, this is what makes African American spirituality a form of shamanism.

Disney's Shadow Man of New Orleans

Disney’s Shadow Man of New Orleans

But, this form of spirituality has been steadily suppressed because in the early twentieth century, African Americans were routinely harassed and even imprisoned because of their religious beliefs. Today when people think of African religions or spirituality, it conjures up images of evil sorcerers. As a result, older African Americans familiar with this form of spirituality have often denied any association with it out of fear of being ostracized. Because African Americans were separated from the Motherland, in general unfamiliar with African cosmology and the old Kongo spiritual systems are nonexistent due to slavery and colonization. Slowly but surely, this system has continued to fade into extinction as the elders that followed and taught the system transition and are not able to pass their wisdom on to younger generations.

Emmett Till and Lil Wayne Controversy

Emmett Till and Lil Wayne Controversy

Today, a great cultural tragedy is occurring on several fronts. From one perspective, because of the lack of a cultural spiritual tradition, youths unfamiliar with their own ancestral history are mocking and ridiculing their heritage.  (i.e. the entertainer Lil Wayne).  This is also due to the fact that many still suffer from Afrohagiophobia, which according to http://www.mamiwata.com/part2.html.

“A pathological fear and irrational intimidation of African spiritual and esoteric science, ancestral veneration, and its ritual and cultural expressions. The simplest spirit manifestations that were once understood in their cosmological context, now “spooked” the newly conditioned generations of African-Americans.”

On the other hand, many people are exploring, searching, investigating, embracing, imitating and mimicking spiritual systems that are foreign to their culture and wondering why these systems are not working and helping them to bring money, peace of mind, or harmony to their relationships.  I am very well aware of the latter because I have put in my time researching and dabbling in various faiths and traditions myself. I have firsthand experience and know that if you do not belong to a particular cultural group, contrary to what anyone tells you. You are not going to get everything as the individual who is born into that culture.   There is going to be a lot of information that is going to be lost in the cultural translation.  A person born and raise Baptist, COGIC, Pentecostal, etc. and converts to Catholicism, Islam, Buddhism, Taoism, etc. is just not going to get everything because those spiritual systems are tailored to the cultures they serve.  I have even witnessed and talked to people who were involved in various African and Afro-American religions and they have told me about the indifferences that exist there as well.

Colonoware

Kongo Cross on Colonoware

So, here comes Kamta to save me.

After doing all of this research and studying all of these philosophies years ago. After trying to make a dying relationship with a “spiritual person” work and trying to incorporate all of these metaphysical ideas, I became deathly ill. Meaning, I almost died twice. How I survived was by throwing out everything that didn’t work and relying upon what I knew that did. I always have to tell people my story so that they can understand what happens when you don’t accept your calling, because it is real.

Queen Nzingah

Queen Nzingah

While I was undergoing my own rebirthing process that is when I began putting rhyme to reason and that’s how I learned about the Kongo people and our ancestral tradition, which can be traced back to the Ba-Ntu people who dwelled in Kamit/Kemet (Ancient Egypt).  It was because the original Kongo systems for the most part is nonexistent that Kamit/Kemet became the inspiration behind this system and I discovered the Maa Aankh cosmogram. By the way, this is totally within the Bantu-Kongo thinking because Kongo traditions have survived throughout the diaspora by adapting and modifying existing philosophies to fit their purpose.

Maa Aankh

So, the battle between good and evil is not seen as an eternal conflict between God and the devil, but between man and woman’s higher and lower selves allegorized as the battle between the Upper and Lower Lands of Kamit. It is the same Kongo concepts of the physical world above and the spiritual world below where one has to travel and meet Osar in order to be reborn, so that he or she can be stand on the edge of both worlds.

Unify Your Kingdom Within

Unify Your Kingdom Within

Now, the key differences between Kamta and other shamanistic systems is that everyone is called to do something because the Rule of the Sun is a way of introducing and inducting everyone into the cultural fold of communal service.  For instance, I have a cousin who just celebrated being drug free for 15 years now.  His ministry is helping other drug addicts.  He had to undergo that little experience in order to fulfill his purpose in life.  As I have mentioned before, since I have overcome and survived lupus. My responsibility has been to help others to do the same thing. This is one of my callings. There is a saying and it holds true for Kamta and it is, “Everyone is Called but only a few will answer.”

Maa Aankh Cosmology

Maa Aankh Cosmology

The point that I am trying to make is that we have our own spiritual traditions, our own ancestors, our own spirits and guides that we can work with and are willing to assist us out of this bind that we find ourselves in.  We do not have to make up, create or mimic another’s cultural tradition especially when they do not share our concerns and would not dowse us with water if we were on fire.  Our ancestors left us with all sorts of guides and maps.  We just have to use them.  So, I am writing this post to help you all to understand that if you have been called what you need to do, because the only ones who can tell you about it have either transitioned into the spiritual realm or are refusing to talk about it because they are suffering from Afrohagiphobia. Hopefully, this post will help you to understand why certain systems aren’t working for you and what you need to do to find your Maa (Way).

Sincerely, I hope this helps.

Seeing God through Ebony Eyes (Seeing Kamitic-ly)

29 01 2012

Hetepu (Peace) Family,

Greetings. Greetings. It’s good to be here.

The other day I was watching a program on National Geographic and they were talking about healing or what they called Strange Healings, which was non-Western approaches to healing. One of the healing practices they featured was the practices of a shaman from the Andes. This particular shaman had diagnosed his patient by using a guinea pig. A similar practice exist in Africa using a goat. In remote parts of Asia they use a sheep or chicken. Anyway, the shaman from the Andes whom they call Maestro (Master) after diagnosing the ailments correctly, offered the guinea to the earth and prepared another offering to remove the spirits that brought the illness from the patient. Then, he chased the spirits away with a series of ritual actions. It was an interesting segment but then they brought on Western trained anthropologists, psychologists and sociologists who talked about that the reason the shaman was successful, was because of a placebo effect.

“Really???” I asked. “How sad.”

How sad I said because it is really a shame that Westerners can’t see beyond their arrogance. Now, I am not totally against Western education and thinking, but you need to know its limitations, which is based totally upon the physical senses. It is the failure recognize that there is something beyond the physical that prevents Westerners from making any serious grounds spiritually.  It is because the people in the Andes can see beyond the physical and identify with the spiritual that allows them to see the sacredness of all things like the coca leaves, which they chew daily. That Westerners have abused, misused and are addicted to.

Now, I am not promoting drugs use but I am trying to get you to see that it is our Western thinking that prevents us from seeing the wholeness of God. It is our Western training that makes us arrogantly believe that because we don’t  understand a thing.  Means that it is not real or effective.  This also is what makes us search for God through someone else eyes rather it be through an Arab’s, Chinese or East Indian’s perspective. The problem with this of course, is that the spirituality of these peoples reflects their divinity through their own eyes and not of foreigners. This means that when you take this same Western or non-holistic perspective and try to learn about someone else spirituality that is foreign to you. It is not going to work either, because there is a safe guard preventing people from abusing and misusing it for mundane and profane purposes.

It is this same safe guard during the Cultural Movement of the 1960s and 70s, that prevented people like The Beatles, Jim Morrison and the Doors, and everyone else during that period from truly climbing higher spiritually, and. Instead led many of them to abusing substances, social disorder and the committing all sorts of heinous acts despite their original natural and peaceful intentions.

It is the same safe guard that made the Great I AM tell Moses to inform the Children of Israel not to gaze upon Him at Mt Sinai because they would perish. What is this safe guard?  It is culture. Culture and spirituality are uniquely tied or joined at the hip and if you don’t have one. It is hard to get the other. In fact, culture is what spirituality different from religion.

What’s the difference you ask between spirituality and religion? Real quick, religion is based solely upon beliefs whereas spirituality is based upon experience. A person can change their beliefs like changing their clothes but you can’t change or deny your experience. This is why spirituality in most non-Western cultures is closely tied to initiations, where you either received the initiation or not.Religion is something you practice. Spirituality is what you are.  Have you ever asked a person who they are and answer they are Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, etc.? This is a religious individual, because their beliefs are dictating who they are and will be. A true spiritual minded individual tells you his or her name based with conviction based upon their experience.

It is this lack of holistic thinking that makes people jump around and try other faiths. I know because I did it as well. Fortunately, my padrino (godfather) and I met and helped me to see life from a different perspective. Of course, it didn’t come quickly. I had to go through a bit of ordeal as you all know, but this ordeal was my trial by fire or leading to my burning bush initiation.  It was because of my initiation I began to see the Kamitic tradition differently. Like many, I had read and read the Kamitic legends numerous times and just chalked them up as fanciful stories, which is evidence of my Western education (indoctrination),  non-holistic thinking and lack of maturity. When I was undergoing my informal initiation that’s when the truth of the Story of Ra and Oset appeared to me.

The Story of Ra & Oset

According to legend, Oset (Aset/Auset/Isis) wanted to be a goddess, so she conjured up some old foot magic and created a serpent, so that when Ra journeyed across the two lands.  The serpent would poison Ra with its bite and in order to save him. Ra would have to reveal his true name to her based upon the belief that whosoever knows his true name could control him. As planned, Ra journeyed across his kingdom and when he came upon the serpent that lie in his path, he was bitten and became very ill. In agony Ra called out to his children to save him but none knew of a cure except for Oset. When Oset came to Ra’s aid she called him to reveal his true name to her so that she could drive the poison out him. Ra after much hesitation tells Oset,

I have made the heavens and the earth, I have ordered the mountains, I have created all that is above them, I have made the water, I have made to come into being the great and wide sea, I have made the ‘Bull of his mother,’ from whom spring the delights of love. I have made the heavens, I have stretched out the two horizons like a curtain, and I have placed the soul of the gods within them. I am he who, if he openeth his eyes, doth make the light, and, if he closeth them, darkness cometh into being.  At his command the Nile riseth, and the gods know not his name. I have made the hours, I have created the days, I bring forward the festivals of the year, I create the Nile-flood. I make the fire of life, and I provide food in the houses. I am KhepeRA in the morning, I am RA at noon, and I am Tmu at evening.”

After hearing all that Ra had said, Oset told him, “The poison continues to run through your body because you have not reveal your true name, my Lord.” Finally having no other choice Ra conceded and he led Oset into another room so that no one else could hear them.  When they were alone. Ra caused his name to pass from within him and into Oset, which she used to drive the poison out of Ra’s body.   The story ends with the impression that the name was not revealed, but the story was a riddle because the name was revealed to Oset in secret. To understand the story, the word for secret and hidden is “Amun or Amen,” which also means to conceal (this is the reason the word was borrowed and used to follow the end of Jewish, Christian and Islamic prayers).

Basic Kongo Cosmogram

It was from this Story it was revealed to me that Khepera (sunrise), Ra (midday), Ra Atum or Tmu (sunset) and Amun Ra (midnight) are not God. They are the divine attributes of the Almighty God, Nebertcher. Together these four attributes correspond to the four moments of the sun (sunrise, midday, sunset and midnight), the four directions (east, north, west and south), the four stages of Life (birth, life, death and rebirth) and the four moments of the Kongo cosmogram (Kala, Tu-Kula, Luvemba and Musoni).

Kongo Cross (Dikenga)

This is how I discovered the maa aankh, a Kamitic – Kongo inspired cosmogram based upon my ancestors’ cultural perspective, which reveals my divinity and uniqueness.  Instead of making me feel inferior or culturally subservient to others.

Maa Aankh
So you see, Egyptologists and other Western scholars got it wrong because they are not culturally in sync with the Kamitic thinking, which was holistic. It was because of my experience guided by the wisdom of my padrino, that allowed me to rediscover and resurrect my own divinity. Thereby connecting to God, which allowed me to see the sacredness of all things. In other words, I had to see God through my Ebony Eyes in order to get a holistic perspective to improve my life.  This is why I am eternally grateful for meeting my padrino because without him I would never have had the pleasure of meeting the orisha Ochossi (Oxossi) and later the netchar Maat.

That’s right, it was Maat that showed me the entire picture or Maa. It was Maat that showed me the Maa (the Way), which I hope you can see means more than just balance, reciprocity, law, justice, order, karma, etc. I hope you can see the difference from knowing and believing in God. When you believe.  You only see part of the picture – usually the one based upon your physical senses, hence the intellectual side everything (based upon your limited understanding).  You see the differences between yourself and others, which is why it is hard for people to come together peacefully. Not only that, when you just believe you tend to argue with others on who is right or wrong, which is a typical Npu (Anubis/Sebek) and Eshu (Ellegua) trick, all due to perspective.

It is important to note that people that believe in God need rules, laws and commandments to follow or they believe that God will punish them and so on. And, rightfully so, because without these rules they would cause great harm to themselves and others because they lack the maturity, understanding and responsibility.

Spiritual people on the other hand don’t just believe in God but know God, which allows them to see life holistically. They live their life based upon what is ideally correctly. A truly spiritual minded individual can or tries to harmonize (be at peace) with anyone regardless if they agree with their beliefs or not, because they understand everyone has a journey. They can come together peacefully with others because they focus on the individual’s spirit. This does not mean they condone negative, self-destructive and perverted behavior, no more than Moses did. It just means that see the sacredness of all things and do not need any commandments, laws and rules to tell them what they should and should not do. Because they see the dangers beforehand. It is part of the holistic or Maa perspective.

I say all this to inform you that if you find yourself flip flopping from faith to faith, not knowing which way to turn or what is right from wrong.  If you feel that you have lost your way or that you haven’t found your way.  It could be because you are looking at life from one perspective and not seeing the whole picture. It might be time for you put down the books and ask Maat to show you the other side of life.  So that you can develop your intuition and learn to see life holistically.

Peace. Hope this helps.
