You Might Need a Mojo (Spiritual Charm/Spiritual Medicine)

15 04 2015

Hetepu (Peace)

Greetings Family, well continuing our conversation about writing your own story by developing a magical mindset like our Kamitic (Ancient Egyptian) ancestors and their descendants, the term mojo is recent years has once again surfaced and entered the mind of pop culture.

mojo

Contrary to popular belief, the term does not mean sexual prowess and it doesn’t have anything to do with sex per se. It is an African American term believed to be a creolized form of the Yoruba word “mojuba,” which means “Thank you.”

Mojo Bag

There are other theories that exist about the origin of the word but I tend to accept the Yoruba mojuba one because as we have seen in past post. Our mind/Spirit is composed of a conscious, superconscious and subconscious. The conscious mind is the part of our being that we use to make choices and decisions.  It is the part of us that we call “I” and for this reason is called our spiritual heart, soul or in the Kamitic language – the Ab. The superconscious is the omnipotent and omniscient part of our being. It is where our most brilliant of ideas come from. Its purpose is to provide us with perfect solutions to whatever troubles us, because it is the divine spark called the Ba. The subconscious is the part of our being responsible for governing all of our personal memories and our autonomous bodily functions (those functions that occur without us telling it to do so like our digestion, regulation of our heartbeat, assimilating of cells, etc.), because its’ main purpose is to ensure that we physically survive.  The thing is that our subconscious does such a wonderful job in maintaining that it doesn’t want to change and that’s where the problem begins.

Our subconscious (and superconscious) does not discriminate. It does not distinguish between right and wrong, left and right, past, present and future, etc. These are all concepts created to help us understand our universe, but the universe does not conform exactly to these concepts. This is the reason if you repeat long enough what you can’t do something like learn mathematics.  You will find that eventually you can’t do mathematics. It doesn’t mean that you can’t do it ever. It is just that you put out in the Universe or told your Spirits you can’t, and the Universe or your Spirits manifested what you wanted. Why? Because you are made in the image of Divine and the Universe/Spirits must conform to the will of the Men and Women of the Divine. This is why if you keep waiting for karma to catch up and divine retribution to be enacted, you will be waiting forever. It is time to move on Family.

scale-of-justice

Of course, every time this is stated someone asks this silly question, so the answer is “yes.” If you as God Man or God Woman told the Sun to stop shining it would but what would be the purpose of doing that?  Why destroy the Universe for something as silly as to prove to you that you have the power of God within you? That’s why it doesn’t…let’s move on.

Anyway, most of the problems we have in our life are because our subconscious is so stuck in its habitual ways that it will fight every conscious decision to change presented. Say you want to lose weight. As soon as you say it, our subconscious has already given us at least six (or more) reasons/excuses not to do it, from being tired, not having time…you name it. You want to quit smoking cigarettes.  Your subconscious has already made excuses for why you should keep smoking cigarettes from it tasting good and being cool looking, to being accepted by those in your social circle. It is this way with everything we try to do. Want to find a new love; your subconscious will fight you on changing your ways to do that. Want to make more money; your subconscious will fight you and convince you somehow that it can’t be done because of all of those conditioned memories that you learned from your parents, family, friends and society.

baphomet devil

This is the reason the Kamitic sages personified the subconscious and called it Set (Set-an or Satan). Set or Satan, the devil, is called the Great Adversary. It is not because he is the epitome of evil, but because he is there to make sure that what you say you want is REALLY what you want.  And, when you realize that the devil is not some evil, red skinned, goat headed man running around with hoofed feet and pitchfork promising wealth if you sell him your soul, but is your lower self that is fighting you. You could think of Set basically as being your own fail switch.

You see, we want a lot of things but aren’t you glad that most of these wishes never came true? Like, aren’t you glad Sisters that you didn’t hook up with that one guy because you learned later that even though he looked good. He was lazy, abusive and really immature. Or Brothers, aren’t you glad you didn’t hook up with that one lady because you learned that she had a lot of self – created drama, she wasn’t supportive, and didn’t know how to love and respect a decent man.  This was all due to your Set opposing you and placing every obstacle he could find in your path. This is not to say that if it is easy, it is meant to be, but the purpose of opposition is to get us to overcome the impurities and shortcomings in our subconscious.  By constantly having opposition towards a particular thing, it forces us to reevaluate what we want and redefine our thinking.

For instance, you get into a relationship and one of the individuals in the relationship doesn’t like how the other manages their money. Set appears and an argument ensues, while he poses the question, “Are you sure you want to be with this individual?” If you decide no, then it is over, but if you decide “yes” then you will discover that it is a learning experience for both people involve. One individual has to learn how to manage their money, while the other has to learn how to teach or work with the other in overcoming this shortcoming. This is where “True Love” comes into the picture. It is having the patience and courage to work with another for the better despite their shortcomings.

I know what you are saying. Some of you are still wondering why bad things happen if we have a failsafe switch. It is because if we keep telling ourselves the same thing over and over again, it is assumed that apparently we have redefined our thinking and are certain of what we want. That means that your present situation is a reflection of the thoughts you focused upon in the past. I know some of you don’t want to accept this and can’t believe it, but it is true. Of course, no one deliberately dwells on negative thoughts. At least no one in his or her right mind. We do however complain about what we don’t want and that is just as bad.  Just recently, I witness a brother for the past two to three months complain about how he was tired of his wife. I mean every other day, it seemed like he was complaining. A couple of days would pass and he was fine, but shortly after he was back to complaining. On an average, he complained more about her then he did express his gratitude a month, so why in the world was he upset when he was served with divorce papers? It was because he he didn’t want her to leave, he just wanted her to stop doing certain things. But, guess what? He didn’t say that and the Universe/Spirits interpreted his constant complaining as he wanted his marriage to end. This is the reason you have to understand the Seven Codes of Maa and realize that Maa is not about following laws, but understanding how the Universe/Spirit works.

 M002

So, how is this done if our subconscious or Set is always going to oppose us?

Well, remember the part of our being that provides excellent solutions is called our superconscious or Ba. This is the divine spark meaning it is mysterious, abstract and irrational part of our being. Unlike our subconscious/Sahu, which is limited to our personal beliefs and experiences, the superconscious/Ba is unlimited, hence omnipotent and omniscient. This means if you want to get it to solve a problem for you, you need to hand your problem to it and trust that it will provide you with a perfect solution. This entails you not obsessing and worrying over the end results, which is the greatest way to destroy any prayer or wish from manifesting.

M001

One of the ways of doing this is by expressing gratitude for the blessings you have. When you do this, it signals to the Universe or to Your Spirits (whichever you want to call it) that you are appreciative of the things you have and want more. Another way is to make a mojo and this is why I think it stems from the Yoruba word “mojuba” because when you make such a charm you are still expressing gratitude but trying to either attract more or repel what you do not desire, through symbolic gestures.

A mojo is spiritual medicine, which Westerners call a charm. Most African American mojos have their origin from the Kongo Angolan region. They symbolize the end result or the desired result and are composed of herbs, papers and personal items which link the individual with the desired objective.  Now, lately everyone claims to be a hoodoo practitioner or a shaman because it is the faddish thing to do now. All of these people after taking a course are now calling themselves Papa, Doctor, Momma, Auntie, Miss Whatever. And, all of these people are claiming that in order to make a properly prepared mojo you have to use flannel, you have to use this herb, tie it a certain way, etc. which is just not true. These are basically people trying to get others to cosign their story in order to extort money from us.  Back in the day, if someone was given a title Papa, Doctor, Momma, Auntie, etc. it is because they earned it.  Meaning these individuals like most shamans had an ordeal they had to overcome. It was after overcoming the obstacle they were reborn and acquired a certain spiritual prowess in dealing with particular issues. Their success reflected in their life.  Our ancestors left us our own hero’s path or self – initiation road map as the Kongo Cross diagrammed as the Maa Aankh below.

Hru Path

The Kamitic Hru (or Hero’s) Path

In other words, I wouldn’t talk to Joe Smo’ about money issues and how to make a billion dollars from a $100. I would talk to Donald Trump or better yet, Warren Buffet because the proof is in the pudding. Well, the same was done back in the day in regards to spiritual matters and we need to get back to do things our way.

Now, when it comes to making mojos, no mojo is made the exact same way. They are all unique to the owner and the owner’s need.  For instance, what one woman needs to attract love may be rose petals, while another needs cinnamon, because these herbs symbolize the unique background and experiences of both individuals. This is why it is best you make your own by discerning which herbs, stone, items, oil, etc. symbolizes what you want.

Listen, I always refer back to what did our enslaved ancestors have. If our enslaved ancestors didn’t have flannel, a particular herb, oil, etc. Or, if the moon wasn’t waxing, full or waning, do you think that stopped them from making a mojo? I think not. They did whatever they needed to do and whatever worked to impress the idea upon the Spirit.

Alright, there are several ways of making these spiritual medicine bundles, but they should be small enough to fit inside the palm of your hand, no bigger. You can use the traditional red cloth or colored fabric to symbolize your goal – red for love, green for fertility/money, purple for power/success, black for absorption, white for wisdom/peace, brown for legal issues/justice, etc.  But, if a particular symbol doesn’t fit well in your scheme change it. For instance, I use light blue for legal issues because it is the color of the sky (air) for ethical issues, it is the color of most police uniforms, so therefore it is governed by Maat.

Maat (the Personification of Maa)

Maat (the Personification of Maa)

Write what you want on a piece of paper. This can be white paper, brown paper bag, etc. Old books use to say parchment because the old grimoires and Jewish texts stated this, but it is not necessary. This is done to help you to focus on what you really want.

Next find items that symbolize what you want. This can be herbs, stones, small icons, symbols, etc. whatever you feel like putting inside of your little bag. The reason Catholic prayer cards are so popular is because the image of the saint serves as an excellent symbol for a desired objective.  Remember, the Spirit (superconscious/subconscious) doesn’t distinguish right and wrong, between black, white, brown, red, etc. It imitates whatever it is programmed to do, which means if you took a Saint Michael prayer card and used it for protection. The Spirit following the symbols inside would understand what you mean.

Once the charm is complete, tie it up so that none of the content inside will fall out. This can knotted based upon whatever each number symbolizes, just follow your intuition.  For instance, some people make three knots to symbolize the mind, body and spirit, or the father, son and holy ghost. I have even heard of knotting it nine times to resemble an umbilical chord, whatever you want. You are the creator of your own medicine, so no one is going to tell you what you are doing is wrong, and if they do who are they to tell you what works for you? Just because it is wrong based upon their learning, just means it is wrong in their eyes. We have to get out of doing things for other people’s approval and accept that what is right is what works for us.  I know it is ongoing process but you have to start somewhere, right?

When you are finish, bring your spiritual medicine or mojo to life. You can choose to pray over it using Psalms 23. You can clasp it tightly in between your hands, while sensing energy coming you and then breathe breath into it. You can smack it on its butt, to symbolize a baby taking its first breath. The choice is your God and Goddess.

Whatever you choose to do, after it is created you need to feed it. Feed it simply means giving it attention. The traditional way to feed a mojo also called a toby in the African American community is to give it a little whiskey or bless it with some favorite cologne, particular oil akin to its objective, or blessed olive oil. But, you can use anything. In the Afro-Caribbean culture they use rum and blow cigar smoke. Some even use incense and in Tibet and China, they use tea, honey and even milk. Again, it doesn’t matter, because the choice is yours. Whatever you choose keep doing it and if you created your mojo on a Friday, it is best to feed it every Friday so that you don’t forget. To feed it, all you need to do is follow your intuition, while telling it “Thank you for attracting (or repelling if that is what you are doing) your (goal).”

You should always treat your mojo with respect. Don’t other people touch it, because the last thing you need is someone else’s doubt. You got enough on your plate working through your own subconscious programming. The general rule of thumb is if you drop your mojo then the spirit leaves. This seems to be more out of respect and based upon the idea that if you think of your mojo as being a child, if it drops it is damaged. It is just a rule to ensure that you protect your medicine. Simply put don’t drop it.

Now, how do I know this works? It is because when I first learned about mojos it was because I had got a copy of Robert Pelton’s book The Complete of Book of Voodoo from a friend in Chicago, when I was in college. As I was photocopying it, I came across a page that had a torn out cigarette advertisement inside of it. When I asked my friend about it later, he told me that his grandmother would use images like this to help people overcome addictions. Did it work? Well, according to my friend, people kept coming to her for help, and the interesting thing is that I didn’t even find this particular rite dealing with addictions in the book (so it wasn’t about the book), which meant this lady conjured up this work (like a true shaman) out of her own Spirit to help this particular individual. In other words, she wrote her own Story.  So the question is, will it work for you? Well, the answer is how strong are your beliefs in the Power of God within you?

Understand, the Universe or Your Spirits, will answer your request in several ways by either:

  1. Giving you exactly what you want, or.
  2. Giving you a close or near equivalent.

Remember that this is one way of impressing what we want on to our Spirit and the reason we do this is because our subconscious, which focuses solely on our physical survival doesn’t want to change. To encourage change, we must use “allegorical speaking” hidden ways, like repeating declarations while falling asleep.

Maa Aankh Mind

At is only during this time (alpha – theta state), that our being is receptive to change.

Hope that helps.

The Big Secret to Becoming Great

12 04 2015

Hetepu (Peace) Family

I am sure that most of you have heard the popular myth that we only use 10% of our brain. Although there is no scientific evidence to support this myth, this myth is constantly repeated by the media through literature and film. Thus leading people to believe that if they were to somehow use the other 90% of their brain that they would be able to perform some extraordinary feats like complex calculations simultaneously or even levitate objects with their mind. This myth has become so popular that when left with no explanation as to how a feat was accomplished.  Some scholars and laymen alike have concluded that this is how the ancient dwellers must have built the pyramids and other grand edifices around the world or, it gets worse.

Alien Paul

An alien civilization traveled to this planet, and with their advanced minds built or tagged these things for humanity like graffiti to say, “Hey (We) Aliens were here” and left no other evidence of their existence, but was like “Peace out!”

aliens

This sounds ridiculous but that is just how it is when you buy into a myth and don’t understand that it is a myth.  We need to stop being so gullible and identify fact (truth) from fiction (myth) by understanding that if it is really the Truth it is the truth for everyone and everything regardless of race, color, creed, species, etc. Whereas, fiction or a myth is only applicable so long as one believes in it.

For instance, the erroneous belief that God favors one race or one group of people over another is clearly a ridiculous myth because why would other races exist? Why would God allow the same air that fills the lungs of one fill the lungs of another? Exactly, it is a myth. The truth is that God like the air we breathe is unbiased and doesn’t have any likes or dislikes. That being said, there is no such thing as “good” or “evil” in the Eyes of God. All exist and all is relative, like the paradoxical question, “Who do you think God favors in the web, the spider or the fly?”

spiderweb

Who do you think God favors in the web, the spider or the fly?

Look Family.  This whole 10% of our brain thing is a myth and if you accept one myth as being truth.  You might as well as accept them all.  You have to understand that this is why racism and various forms of “isms” continue to exist because they are all based upon “myths”.  This goes for the myth that one particular individual or group is superior over another because of  – whatever… I am not saying that myths aren’t useful, which I will explain later. I am saying that we have to recognize that everything that we read, hear, see and are told is not truth and that if we want to become great. We have to base our life’s purpose on Universal Truth, or Maa. When one doesn’t have Maa, and they base their life on a myth, it gives them a false pride because it is based upon their ego. Hence, the reason Malcolm X (El Hajj Malik Shabazz) left and went to find his maa (personal truth) for himself. While abroad he realized that it was people’s dogmas that made them good or evil.  Which by the way is the first step to always dealing with myths, is to never take someone else’s word or account, but discern if it is true by trying it out yourself.

Malcolm in Mecca

So again, the whole 10% of our brain thing is a myth and science has confirmed that we all use 100% of our brain, all of the time. That’s right, all of us (regardless of race, color, creed, etc.).  The interesting thing about myths is that no one really knows how they begin. For instance, it is not known if this “10% of our brain” myth is based upon a misunderstood quote of Albert Einstein or a misquote based upon William James’ The Energies of Men who stated, “We are making use of only a small part of our possible mental and physical resources.” What is known is that all myths have a small fraction of a truth and that this “10% of our brain myth” may be based upon the popular saying, “If we don’t Use it. We lose it.” Meaning, if we don’t make regular use of a skill we tend to forget how to use it. This, we can all verify because we have all experienced learning a subject like mathematics, science or even taking piano lessons, and then after a brief hiatus such as a summer break, we have forgotten almost everything we learned a month or so ago.

math frustration

This again has been confirmed by science, which found that every time we have a new experience, new synapses, a structure within our brain that permits a nerve cell to pass electrical or chemical signal to another, while old synapses degenerate. This however begs one to ask then why when we learn how to ride a bike, we never forget how? This is one of the questions that is driving scientists to understand the degenerative ill-ness Alzheimer. I theorize that the reason subjects like mathematics, science and playing music are not forgotten like riding a bike because these experiences are stored in different parts of the brain and within our physical body.

Our brain is composed of numerous parts and can be divided into two hemispheres called the left and right hemispheres.

Left and Right

The left hemisphere of the brain controls how the right side of the body feels, moves and is also responsible for all analytical and logical thought processes, while the right hemisphere of the brain controls how the movement and feelings on the left side of the body.  The right hemisphere is also in charge of abstract and holistic thoughts as well as all of our creative thought process.

Right and Left Hemispheres

For instance, logical thought such as mathematics, science, language, etc. are all considered to be left hemisphere subjects, whereas abstract thought, intuitive thinking, visual imagery, creative expression, etc. are considered to be right hemisphere dominant functions. The interesting thing is and what made the Kamitic people so great is that they knew about the left and right hemispheres of the brain thousands of years ago. How did they know? Who cares, the fact is that they knew and they illustrated this through the Eyes of Ra.

The Right Eye of Ra (Also known as the Solar Eye corresponds to literal and physical sight.)

The Right Eye of Ra (Also known as the Solar Eye corresponds to literal and physical sight.)

It is a known and scientific fact that Kamitic people understood and identified that the Right Eye of Ra (Aakhut or Solar Eye) corresponds to the sun and the left hemisphere of the brain, which is associated with rational thinking, masculinity, sequential order, aggressiveness, the living, etc.

The Left Eye of Ra (also called the Lunar Eye corresponds to intuition and spiritual sight, hence insight.)

The Left Eye of Ra (also called the Lunar Eye corresponds to intuition and spiritual sight, hence insight.)

While the  Left Eye of Ra (Aabit or Lunar Eye) corresponded to the moon and the right hemisphere of the brain, which they associated with intuitive thoughts, femininity, receptivity, holisitic thinking, ancestors (spirits), etc. Together these eyes provide a holistic perspective or both hemispheres of the brain working together.

The Eyes of Ra (Provide a Holistic Perspective)

The Eyes of Ra (Provide a Holistic Perspective)

So, why are the Kamitic people (and other indigenous people) who had a better understanding of the brain still depicted as being primitive, backward, polytheistic, idol worshiping black, brown and red people, when it is clear they had an understanding scientific precepts?

It is because Westerners don’t have an understanding of their abstract mind. And rather than humbling themselves and admitting that their philosophy is flawed. They continue to race to their destructive end which they do not know how to avert.

Understand it is both bewildering and embarrassing to Western scholars and theologians because ancient dwellers around the globe with their limited technologies were able to accomplish magnificent feats that still defy time.  This is the reason certain people continue to perpetuate the 10% brain myth and particularly the Alien Myth, because they are ashamed to admit that they don’t know and too arrogant to want to truly understand why.

Albert Einstein

This is why it is best for us all to abandon and relinquish the Western approaches to life and relearn our ancestral ways. Albert Einstein said it best, “We can’t solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” This means we have to think outside of the box and do something different. That something different is learning how to use the right hemisphere of our brain.

sincos

The dwellers of the Nile made regular use of both the left and right hemisphere.  Evidence of their left hemisphere obviously can be seen in the pyramids and other edifices that they built, clearly indicating that they understood mathematics and engineering but also in their medical discoveries and legal documents. This is the reason the caduceus resembles the sine and cosine curves. Evidence of their right hemisphere can be seen in the fact that all of their religious texts despite their advancement were still composed of mythological creatures used to symbolize various aspects of consciousness. Don’t be fooled into thinking that ancient dwellers just created something and degenerated. The truth has never been that easy. Conquerors have always lied to quell the masses.

So what happened?

Egypt_Narmer

Basically, the Kamitic people at some point in their history came face to face with the limitations of the intellectual and logical mind. They realized that in order to go any further they needed to implore and maintain a magical mindset. In other words, they had to think outside of the box. It is believed by many that started this movement, which resulted in an unified Kamit and the first Kamitic dynasty.

Greatness is achieved by all those who “Think Outside of their Habitual, Subconscious Box”

It is a known fact that the Kamitic people inspired the Greek, Roman and other Western philosophies and religions, but only a few understand that the reason the Kamitic spiritual tradition never changed and continued to portray their concepts with animal and human features, is so that people would remember that these are energies that exist throughout the universe and within the human being.

Djahuti and Hermes

Djahuti (Tehuti or Thoth) and Hermes considered to be personification of wisdom

This is the reason the Story of Osar was always accepted and understood by the Kamitic people to be a national myth and never believed to be a factual event like the Passion of Jesus the Christ. The Kamitc sages understood that the human mind is the most powerful creation of the Divine but if not properly cultivated can lead to our greatest downfall. So they kept their myths and adapted and developed them alongside their intellectual discoveries versus telling people that the whole story was historically true.

They understood that if one is too right brained dominant they will become “too spiritual” meaning flighty, not grounded in reality, head up in the sky, delusional like thinking that all we need to survive on is air, which was allegorized as the death of Osar (Asar, Ausar or Osiris), the ruler of  KAMTA – the fertile Black Lands. On the other side of the spectrum, if one is to left hemisphere dominant they only believe in actual facts, scientific discoveries but they never have any dreams, which means if you believe the world is going to end based upon current observations, then your world is going to end because you believe it will. You therefore will only find evidence and signs to support this belief based upon your narrow perspective. This was metaphorized as the destruction caused by Osar’s youngest brother Set (Set-an, Typhon or Satan) the ruler of TASETT – The Red Lands . This is the reason people who are stuck on conspiracy theories see everything as being a conspiracy and they are the loneliest and the unhappiest people (next to so-called spiritual people) in the world, all because of their limited perspective. I hope you see that there is more to just mere symbolism being used here.

maa aank2014b

This is the historical, metaphorical and metaphysical reason all of the Kamitic rulers identified with Hru (Horus in Greek). Hru as the heir of his father Osar and victorious over his uncle Set symbolized dominance over both realities. He is called the Maa Kheru (One Who Speaks with True Voice) because he stands on the edge of both realities, both realms and has full use of both his right and left hemispheres of the brain.  Hru is balanced and not dominated by either side.  He symbolizes the Man and Woman of God because he has access to both the spiritual and physical realm, or the superconscious and subconscious parts of his and her being.

This is not just some hocus pocus stuff we are talking about. This is esoteric science and once we abandon this whole Western notion of good versus evil, and get back to our balance mindset or a holistic perspective.  We will see that Jesus Christ symbolizes what we (men and women) can accomplish once we unify our higher and lower selves (metaphorically speaking defeat the devil –lower self like Jesus did and ascend to the heaven – higher self). As long as we continue to depend upon our intellect, we will continue to be enslaved by our physical senses and think inside the box.

What do I mean?

Well, when the media says the economy is failing, you believe the economy is failing and react accordingly despite the fact during the depression and recession, there were millionaires still making money hand over fist. It means that if you see an advertisement that lists a host of symptoms and claim you might have “this disease”. You accept this belief and react subconsciously as if you might have this disease. It means that if you see something talking about a particular celebrity’s hair, attire, plastic surgery, shoes, pet dog, lipstick, implants, purse, or whatever silly thing that gets your attention. You react subconsciously by either giving or not giving damn and respond accordingly. It means that if a television or film portrays a particular individual or group as being a threat, endangered, targeted, impoverished, wealthy, favored, etc., then you react subconsciously as if the myth is true because you have been written in as a character in someone else’s story.

Puppet

Why do you think the minority in every horror movie is killed off first? Why is it all of sudden cool and fashionable for black men to be bald after they reach a certain age, or wear dreads if they are younger? Why is it all Black and Latina actresses are sassy, mouthful, disrespectful and depicted as misunderstood strong woman by their own jealous and insecure men? Why is it lately that European witchcraft is cool and there are all of these shows and movies about teenage witches and how they are helping the world, while African, Native American and Latin American magical practices are depicted as evil? Like, the Haitian Revolutionaries who used Vodu to defeat their slave masters, but to this day. No one says that the Haitians were in the right for defending and fighting for their freedom against the evil French enslavers. Why? Because according to the Westernize myth, the Westernized story, it was the Haitians who were evil and not the French. It is the same reason Christopher Columbus is still depicted as founders of the Americas, despite the fact that there were people already here. This society has programmed you on how you are going to react and all they need is the right stimuli to make you do exactly what they wrote you to do. That means in the stereotypical manner that they expect you to but, if you want to be Great. There is only one thing you have to do. Use your spiritual tradition to….

Create YOUR OWN STORY!

That means thinking outside of the habitual, subconscious box. It means doing something that those around you (society) will see as being strange, weird and bizarre. Understand I am not talking about doing something different in order to create a buzz around the fashion world.

 Jokers in Skirts

I am talking about realizing the limitations of your intellect. You can only go so far in your intellectual understanding. The rest of the way means stepping out into the great unknown and doing something that your mother and father, your family, friends and society in general is not going to cosign.

Many of you are sitting on top of inventions that could solve world dilemmas but you refuse to develop these ideas out of fear of not being accepted by those around you. You refuse to act out of character and develop your own story out of fear. This is why you are stuck dealing with the same ole same old thing and can’t figure out why you aren’t advancing.

Shaka Zulu

You have to understand what made our ancestors great is that they created and developed their own story. Shaka Zulu for instance is a great example of a brilliant cultural aakhu (ancestor). If you go and rent the movie, you will remember that Shaka was expected to go along with the present society’s ideas of who he was supposed to be. When he refused to do so, he developed a different type of spear, broaden the Zulu shield and revolutionize the African military, which helped his people to avoid the onslaught that could have completely devastated the whole southern half of Africa. Imagine if he would not have done this how different South Africa would have been. Apartheid existed but if Shaka never did what he had done, it would have been much worse. And, the only reason he finally failed is because Shaka bought into the European’s story.

How Do You Think Outside the Box?

Ok, so how do you think outside of the proverbial subconscious box like the Kamitic people did? Again, it is realizing that your intellect is limited and that the solution to what ails you involves you engaging in a practice that may appear weird at first but produces tangible results. It is what some people call magical thinking.

Napoleon Hill

Thomas Edison whenever he couldn’t figure out something developed the peculiar habit of going to sleep and waking up with a solution. The famed author Napoleon Hill wrote about in his bestselling book, Think and Grow Rich how every night he would in his imagination his Nine Invisible Counselors, who provided him with expert advice.  These are all techniques that the Kamitic people and their descendants have been using from time immemorial. This is the main reason for having a spiritual het (spiritual house that honors your ancestors and guardian spirits). If you have a spiritual altar and your life is not any better, you are following someone else’s story or tradition. You are doing these based upon myth, with no understanding of the concepts and principles.

We should all be able, like the Kamitic people, to enter into the magical state of being by choice. The magical state of being is what people call the alpha (and deeper states like theta). When the Kamitic people talked to their spirits or as Napoleon Hill called them “Invisible Counselors” they got expert advice. We need to stop complaining about what other people are doing if we aren’t willing to use our own spirituality.

Now, don’t be fooled. The gods, goddesses, angels, spirits, deities, forms, sprites, dwarves, gnomes, fairy people, daemons, djinn, saints, etc. are all archetypes and the numerous stories surrounding them are different ways of getting into the alpha and theta mind state.

Maa Aankh Mind

This is the difference between magical right hemisphere dominant cultures like the Kamitic people and logical left hemisphere dominant cultures like those in the West. The Kamitic people worked and functioned as we would today, but when they encountered a problem. They quickly would talk to the governing archetype over the problem to discover a solution, instead of trying to intellectualize and think their way to a solution.

How would they do it? They would after realizing the limitation of their intellect, ask the ancestor or spirit to help them to resolve a particular issue and that was it. They wouldn’t worry about the problem. They didn’t allow their anxieties and fears dictate what they should and should not do. They relinquished the problem to a higher authority (the archetypes within their superconscious or Higher Self) and trust the omnipotence and omniscience of their Higher Self that a solution was forthcoming. When a solution came they expressed their gratitude by making an offering and that is how they continued their magical thought process, which people refer to as the Kamitic religion. But, understand this entire practice was based upon a quid pro quo system that depended upon actual results. Western scholars and theologians would like people to believe that non-Western people just made offerings to inanimate objects all over the place as if they didn’t know there was one Supreme Being – that’s their story.

Npu (Anubis) - The Opener of the Way

Npu (Anubis) – The Kamitic Opener of the Way and Finder of Lost Things

No, they knew all along that there was only One Supreme Diety but that ultimately they were the authors and creators of their own life. Let me give you an example of what I mean by actual results. One day I was looking for a book and I couldn’t find it. I looked all over the place, in the car, work, etc. and I just could not find it. Finally, I asked the dog headed Npu to help me to find it, the analogy being that dogs can find anything. Minutes later, I found it, as if someone had just laid it in front of me. In return I offered Npu some candy. This is how most spiritual traditions are practiced and this is no different from calling on the Catholic patron saint of lost and stolen things, Saint Anthony. This same technique can be used for love/relationships, protection/security, success, etc. It doesn’t require you to become initiated into some order because as I stated earlier, Napoleon Hill used it and he wasn’t initiated into anything. All you have to do is understand the concepts and principles and simply use it. Nothing bad is going to happen to you if you use it. That’s “Their Story” talking to you. The only thing bad that will happen is that a particular practice doesn’t work, which simply means you have to explore another way of getting into your alpha state. You will know it works when you get your desired results.

 Meditation

For instance, I could never meditate. In fact, I couldn’t meditate so much that I eventually hated meditation because every time I tried to meditate I would fall asleep and get nothing done. I later learned that it wasn’t that I couldn’t meditate but that I was taught to meditate as a spiritual discipline. You know you have to sit in that crossed legged lotus position, hold your hands a certain way, etc. It seemed like a a spiritual chore. Not only that, I never met anyone who was happy to meditate and would say, “Hey I am going to go meditate! Wahoo!”  It was always people dragging and dreading to meditate, so when I would meditate with this mindset. I would go too deep into the alpha state and get bored, then fall asleep. When I learned that meditation was about introvert-ing your awareness in order to reconnect with the intuitive and omnipotent part within ourselves, I looked forward to meditating, which is actually contemplating. I didn’t get into that cross-legged position. I simply relaxed, slowed my breathing and listened. Today, I look forward to sleeping, dreaming and using divination tools to connect to the intuitive and omnipotent part of my being.

Haitian

Another hang up that prevents people from going into their alpha state is the Western notion of good and evil. Listen, there is no such thing as good and evil or black and white magic. This is more foolish nonsense to keep you from entering into your alpha state. It is all about perspective. Energy is energy. Fire can be used to create or to destroy. Water can be used to create or to destroy. There is no such thing as good and bad fire or water. Just like there is no such thing as good and bad magic. People buy into this nonsense because they buy into the whole Western myth. Again, remember the spider and the fly or the French slave master who used Christianity to maintain slavery and the Haitian rebel who used Vodu to fight slavery.  Remember it is all perspective and depends upon who is telling the story.

Last but not least, don’t try to intellectualize why it works because it will just muddle up the process. We have to realize that we being a product of the universe have physical and spiritual attributes, because the universe is composed of a physical and spiritual reality. All you really need to do is accept that it works like Hru trusted his father Osar.

Hope that helps.

I’M KAMITIC! AND I’M PROUD! (What it Really Means to be Kamitic)

13 02 2015

Hetep (Peace)

I know most of you have heard the famous 1970s Cultural Hit anthem by James Brown, “Say it loud. I’m BLACK and I’m PROUD!” Well, I deemed it time to change this popular mantra and declare that I’m KAMITIC AND I’m PROUD! I decided to write this post in response to the misrepresentation some have due to the growing usage of the popular Kamitic term “Hetep” which means “Peace”.  Understand it is not my intention to belittle anyone or group but to clearly distinguish from my perspective what is and who is Kamitic (Kemetic, Khemetic, etc.) versus individuals that are at present caught up in the moment, so that true seekers don’t get the wrong idea.

First, being Kamitic is not a fad, something that is popular or the “in thing” right now. I mean it is great that people want to decorate their body, home, etc. with ancient Egyptian motifs and all but, this is not what being Kamitic is about.

Portuguese ship

Portuguese ship

To understand what Kamitic is and is not we have to understand how it all began.  According to my research, when Central and West Africans were taken to the Americas.  Each of these ethnic groups brought with them a fragment of their cultural spiritual traditions. Those taken to Cuba used their African cultural heritage combined with Amerindian and Spanish influence to create the rich Afro-Latino traditions known as Lucumi (Santeria), Palo Mayombe and Abacua; in Puerto Rico similar Afro-Latino influences were used to create Santisimo and Santeria; similar influences combined with the French gave rise of course to Vodun in Haiti and Las 21 Divisiones in Dominican Republic (Las 21 Divisiones/Los Misterios also known as Dominican Vudu); while developing in Trinidad and Tobago there was Shango Baptiste; and last but not least in Brazil, Candomble, Macuumba and Umbanda. (Not to mention the other Afro-traditions that exist throughout the Caribbean and South America). All of these powerful and beautiful Afro – spiritual traditions were birthed out of a Spirit of Resistance, but in North America due to the fact that the taskmasters were Protestant, the Africans were unable to create such a tradition. This however didn’t mean that they didn’t try. Instead, the first Africans that stepped on the North American shores (in Jamestown, VA) came from Kongo – Angolan region and they brought with them the infamous Kongo Cross.

The Kongo Cross

The Kongo Cross also known as the Yowa and Dikenga

The Kongo Cross (also known as the Yowa and Dikenga), which was the spiritual and philosophical foundation of the Kongo culture, is what the first Africans in North America used to build their own spiritual tradition of resistance. That’s right, contrary to popular belief, early African Americans did not lose all of their culture – this is a myth.  Our ancestors in North America like many other enslaved African descendants managed to preserve their very own African cosmology. What was lost was the philosophical and theological understanding of our culture. 400 years of slavery can’t erase or undo what has been practiced since Ancient Egypt.

Kongo Cross used for Ventilation during Underground Railroad

Kongo Cross used to signal and provide for ventilation for those on the Underground Railroad.

Now through this sacred cosmogram early African Americans were able to preserve and create new traditions based upon their African heritage and new American experience, like an informal initiation system reflective of the sun’s movement and the famed ring shout.

African American Ring Shout

African American Ring Shout. Notice the cross formation symbolizing the four moments of the sun and Four moments of Life.

Europeans observing the odd behavior and practices, which consisted of early African Americans envisioning their world from a different perspective than their oppressors, labelled it hoodoo and voodoo as a means of demonizing all African beliefs, practices, traditions and cultures. (It should be noted that hoodoo is believed to be derived from the Spanish term judio pronounced hoo-dee-oh meaning Jewish.  It is theorized that the term was used first by the Spanish merchants to identify those Africans who refused to accept the European ethnocentric view of the world that everything wasn’t Christian was primitive and evil).

Contemporary Ring Shout

Anyway, this new perspective that early Africans in America held is what author Theophus H. Smith called a Conjuring Culture.  This Conjuring Culture, which was birthed from the Kongo Cross became the philosophical base for the American Christian church that we see today. Most of the African aspects such as speaking – in – tongues, dancing (shouting), struck by the spirit, prophesizing, etc. – are all African elements that never existed in the Church prior to the genocide of the Amerindians and enslavement of Africans. All of these elements are now widely accepted in all charismatic churches throughout the world without any knowledge that it stems from African spirituality. This cultural appropriation exists because as Churchill said, “History is written by the victors”.

Azusa Street Revival

Azusa Street Revival – the birth of the Pentecostal Movement

Now the Conjuring Culture that was birthed from the Kongo Cross didn’t just create Christian fervor, which emerged and became the famed Azusa Street Revival.  It also gave rise to two very powerful underground movements that exist today because of Psalms 68:31, which states:

“Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon
stretch out her hands unto God”.

In the minds of the Africans in Jamaica, the Kongo Cross gave rise to the black Zionism Movement, where Zion became the iconic figure of Ethiopia, which later became Rastafarianism.  While during the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, this verse gave rise to Ethiopianism. Here is where Ethiopia became the iconic figure of return symbolizing freedom. When Dr. Martin L. King Jr. began protesting and marching for civil rights. He was seen as a Black Moses where instead of the biblical Children of Israel being enslaved, it was the Children (Sons and Daughters) of Ethiopia who were enslaved and modern day United States was the biblical Egypt.  This is why Martin L. King constantly compared the civil injustices in the United States with the plight of the biblical Hebrews in Egypt.

But, Egypt was also mentioned in this most widely quoted verse, and this inspired many like W.E.B. DuBois to refer to Egypt in the early 1900s, as an iconic figure for sociopolitical movement. Like the spiritual tradition Rastafarianism that was born out of the black Zionism movement (or Back-to-Africa Movement).  Kamiticism was born out of the Ethiopianism movement, which was first widely popularized throughout the Afro-diaspora by Ra Un Nefer Amen, the founder of the Ausar Auset Society. Both Rastafarianism and Kamiticism are Afro-spiritual traditions born out of necessity and the spirit of resistance.

Unfortunately, although both Rastafarianism and Kamiticism have accomplished a lot throughout the Afro-Diaspora, they both suffer from similar misinterpretations, misrepresentations and misunderstandings.

Rastafarianism as a movement consists of several branches, all with different beliefs. Popular Kamitic figure and iconic tattoos

Popular Kamitic figures and icons tattoos. Maat tattoo on the entertainer Rhianna.

The same can be said about those who are Kamitic.  Just because someone wears an ankh or some other Kamitic glyph (or image) tattooed on their body doesn’t make them Kamitic. By the way, nor does wearing Kamitic jewelry, having Kamitic artwork (including images of Nefertiti, Tutankhamen, etc.),  saying Kamitic words like “Hetep” or adopting a Kamitic name. While we are at it, learning Kamitic history and practicing a Kamitic inspired religion doesn’t make a person Kamitic either. It helps one to get a better understanding of what it means to be Kamitic but, sorry to step on peoples’ toes.  It doesn’t make them Kamitic no more than an egyptologists (lower cased intentionally) translating hieroglyphs is ancient Egyptian, or practicing Taosim makes an individual Chinese, or Shinto makes a person Japanese.  These are all forms like cloth weaved by a weaver.  Just like clothes don’t make the man, doing these things don’t and will not make an individual more or less Kamitic either.

LifeStory_Egypt-2-980x380

Because being Kamitic is more than wearing Egyptian jewelry, Kamitic clothing, a Kamitic name, speaking Kamitic, etc.  As you have read above, it is not a movement that just started in the 1980s when Afro-centricity became widely popular and grew in the 1970s and 1980s.  No. Kamitic is a cultural way of life and like any other cultural way it consists of an indescribable philosophical change. As a result, it could be said that there are several denominations or groups, and anyone who considers themselves Kamitic should be able to tell you how they made the transition. I can only share what happened to me and my experience.

Maa Aankh with Utchat

From my perspective, Kamitic spirituality adds the missing philosophical and theological elements that were lost due to the slave experience, which has allowed me the ability to interpret life once again from a holistic perspective (and not from the perspective of the victim or victimizer).

This is because when an individual truly converts and becomes Kamitic. They are spiritually born again because an old part of them dies and another part is born. This moment is symbolized as the transition from Ra Atum (setting sun/death) to the Khepera (sunrise/birth) moment on the Maa Aankh. It is similar to receiving the Holy Ghost because it is truly a change in consciousness. This metamorphosis is called in the Kamitic language “Maa Kheru” pronounced “Maa-Xa-ru.” Maa Kheru literally means “One Who is True of Voice“. Meaning, in other words, you see Divine Truth (or it was revealed to you), so you speak and live it.  When this Truth is revealed, it doesn’t have to be something dramatic like the biblical Paul being knocked off his ass (donkey). It is personal and it doesn’t matter if others witness it or not. It is simply revealed to you, thus establishing a rapport between you and the Divine within you.

Maa-The Path of the Feather

Maa-The Path of the Feather

This is how you begin to discover your truth or maa. It also how you receive Divine Protection because Maa literally means Divine Truth, Divine Balance, and Righteousness and symbolizes the Way to the Divine (symbolized as the vertical yellow line on the Maa Aankh).  What this means is that when you begin to connect with the Divine within you. The Spirit will reveal to you your own maa or personal truth to help you balance your life and live righteously.  The Spirit will show you what works best for you and what doesn’t work for you, versus you following a bunch of dogmatic do’s and don’ts created for the masses. For instance, some people in this lifetime need to listen to their spirit and abstain from sweets because it is detrimental to their well being. This same restriction however would not apply to everyone and it doesn’t mean that sweets are bad or evil. It just means for this particular individual(s), they would have to avoid sweets because their spirit revealed to them to do so. Sweets for this individual(s) becomes a taboo for them or basically part of their maa (personal truth, personal balance, personal righteousness living or simply their personal way).

This means you become responsible for your own development.  Thus you are now held accountable to the Divine, your aakhu (ancestors) and to the people. When you willingly violate the maa (your personal truth) that was revealed to you. You reap the consequences. Understand, this is not God or some other entity punishing you for breaking the Law, and by the way you are not going to be rewarded either. The maa is established to help you to work your own spirit.  So when things work, you know what works for you. When things don’t work out, you know what doesn’t work for you, and you know what to do in order to initiate change.  As you can see, when you become Kamitic you become aware of how the Divine Laws interact with you, instead of wondering around with no guide.

wesley-snipes-380212

Understand Kamitic is what Westerners called pagan.  The word pagan comes from the Latin word paganus, which means “country folk,” hence indigenous, traditional, folk ethnic religious folk practices, etc.

davincicode3d

If you watch Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code starring Tom Hanks, you will see him run around the Vatican pointing at obelisks and calling them pagan. When he goes more in detail, he explains how the Church (the Vatican) placed Christian iconography on top of the obelisks in order to subdue those who followed the Egyptian way of thinking. (Note that followers of the ancient Greek religions were called Hellenes – Hellenic culture, gentile and paganos).

Obelisk in the Vatican

Obelisk in the Vatican

What was the Ancient Egyptian or Kamitic Way of Thinking?

The Da Vinci Code hit on it but it masked it with more conspiracy theories, which led people to go in search of a literal golden grail in France or somewhere in Europe. People missed the point and made this all about Jesus and some bloodline. No. It was all about the pagan way. It (and this) has nothing to do with Jesus per se, it was about Gnostic beliefs.

Kamitic Falcon - Hru

You see, Kamitic history reveals that the Kamitic people strongly believed that we are all made in the image of the Divine. That Men and Women are Divine polar opposites and counterparts or the manifestation of the Divine on earth. That Women have similar rights as Men because Men are the Causal, while Women are the Effectual. Said another way, Men are the Initiators of Divine Will, while women are the Manifestors or Makers of the Divine Will. I know it is nice and sounds sweet to call a man, “My King” and a woman, “My Queen” but in Kamit they were serious and history reveals that the men and women literally played the part. Men modeled themselves after the king who emulated the Sun, strong, constant, always shining, resilient, powerful, like that of a lion symbolized as Hru. As women modeled themselves after the queen, who emulated the moon, reflective of her king or the sun and would do anything to protect her family, village and nation as lioness like the netchar Oset (Aset, Auset Greek Isis).

nutgeb

Nyut (the personification of the mysterious and unknown realm symbolized as the female womb) and Geb (the personification of the materialization of what is known symbolized as the male)

Think about that for a moment.  Imagine if men saw their woman as the personification of the cosmos and women saw their man as the materialization of potential. Would sex just be a mere act? I think not. Would a man disrespect his woman or just let anyone run all over his woman? Would a woman just disrespect and allow her man to continue to fight to be in a system designed against them both? I think not. Both would see each other as divine counterparts and would make their world (their kingdom and their reality) in their image. Every time they came together, they would be reminded that they were conceiving (physically and spiritually) an ancestor to enter into the physical realm because the aakhu (ancestors and spirit guides) were symbolized as stars in the night sky of the belly of Nyut (Nut). Do you see why “they” had to demonize us and our way of life? Yeah, it sounds romantic, but as you can see it is beyond that because it creates a natural nationalism that is against the machinations of the ego-self (Set or the devil) that are promoted throughout society today.

leop

Ancient Kamitic Shaman/Priest

You see, there are only two emotions that exist in our universe and they are love and fear. The Kamitic way of thinking truly rivals Western thinking because it is based upon the Love of God. It is because of the Love of God we were made in the image of a Perfect Creator. Therefore, everything that exists in our life (both the good and the bad) was put there by divine design to help us to realize our divinity and accomplish our destiny. In other words, make us spiritually stronger. This is the reason when you truly have overcome a destructive habit you feel accomplished, free, relieved, empowered and victorious.

Western thinking however, is based upon the Fear of God, which is that we were made in the image of the Divine but fell due to sin. Consequently, we have to beg and plead eternally for forgiveness in order to be saved. We have to put ourselves in service of others or go to God through some clergy or we will be punished by a vengeful deity that made us flawed in the first place.

heston

Charlton Heston as Moses in Cecil DeMille’s Ten Commandments

Basically Kamitic thinking is where we basically develop a relationship with God by discovering who the Divine is within us. Whereas Western thinking is where we are told who God is and ostracized or punished for not accepting the beliefs of spiritual tyrants. In other words, Western religious thinking focuses upon people become Children of God, whereas Kamitic spiritual thinking is focused on helping an individual become a Man or Woman of God.

So a true Kamitic is not about following a particular person or group but, his or her Divine’s Will and that is what made the Kamitic people of old dangerous. This is why the early Christian Church waged war against the Kamitic and Kushite (ancient Nubian) people.  This was later followed by the Islamic jihadists, who drove the Kamitic people to the West of Africa and into the African interior.  A true Kamitic descendant in these contemporary times (because that is what we are) is a free thinker that knows how to use all of the faculties of his and her mind (the superconscious/subconscious and conscious). No, we are not super humans and being Kamitic doesn’t mean we don’t have problems. We live in a physical world, which is dynamic and always changing, so we will always have problems because nothing stands still or is for certain.   But, we know that the solution to our problems doesn’t rests in our own thinking.

It involves us learning how to access the deeper part of our mind (the superconscious part of our being or the Divine mind). This is the reason all of the Kamitic traditions have a spiritual system or cosmogram that they follow like the Kamitic Paut Neteru (the Kamitic Tree of Life) or the Maa Aankh (the Bantu – Kamitic Cross).

M1_021115

Let me give an example. There is an altercation that occurs and people are up in arms. One group wants strike out in anger. Another group wants to boycott or protest. Religious leaders and fraternal organizations convene and want to do something that show that they are on the peoples’ side but at the same time not want to jeopardize their standing with various parties.  Activists of all types want to talk on the radio, podcasts, etc. and keep the energy high so that something is accomplished. These are all good and valiant efforts, which I am not knocking at all but have to be considered and well thought of. But let me tell you how a Kamitic man or woman handles the situation. They talk to the Divine like their ancestors did before them through either meditation or by consulting an oracle.

If you scoff at meditation or the use of an oracle, then you know nothing about being Kamitic. Because the whole basis of the Kamitic spiritual tradition rests on the Story of Osar (Asar, Ausar or Greek Osiris), where the hero of the story, Hru (Hrw, Heru or Horus) defeats his more learned uncle of war, Set (Set-an, Satan, Greek Typhon, the Ego-self) on the battlefield through intuitive (contemplative/meditative) means. The Story of Osar is a metaphor about the human experience. Yes, it is true that during the Council of Nicaea it was decided that the Story of Jesus was modeled after the Story of Osar to distort the Gnostic teachings.  Once it is realize that the Christian story like the Story of Osar are not to be taken literal because they are based upon similar metaphorical truths. Life is all about manifesting the Will of God on earth.

As you can see, part of the reason so many people have converted to a Kamitic path is because they have have broken the mental chains and realized that the “real devil/enemy” is not some entity or person that exists outside of themselves. The “real devil/enemy” is our lower self and who or whatever we give our personal power to. Everything that our Set (Ego-self) tells us to fear for no reason is what we give power to.That’s right, your enemy only has as much power over you as you allow them to. Once you realize your true enemy is what you fear and what you give your power to.  You will be FREE. Until that time, the answer to the question as to why does a small minority control the majority. It is because we mentally allow them to do so by buying into their reality and not investing in our own.

elephant-tied-with-rope

Now understand, when I say Ego-self, I am not talking about just being arrogant and braggadocios. I am talking about that part of our being that was hurt when we were younger and now uses that painful experience as a springboard to validate their treatment of others rather it is justified or not. I am talking about the part of our being that grew up believing that money is the root of all evil and that in order to make money you have to toil day and night, and compete and kill off others to survive. It is that old self, that old ego way of thinking that is afraid of some real spiritual work because it knows it has to make some changes. Yes! That part of our being that doesn’t want to change but would prefer.  That we sit on our loins and just bellyache, criticize and complain – Yeah, that part of our being. That part of our being that is afraid to do what is right and just, even though it is not popular.  That’s your Set, your true enemy.

So those who have truthfully become Kamitic realized that the reason we keep having the same problems and every solution they offer complicates the matter even more so, is because we are using the same thinking that created the problem symbolized as Set. We have to think outside of the box and that means doing something different. That different thing means to go deeper within our superconscious symbolized as KAMTA. This is where all of the great ideas and inventions come from. If you look at the detailed Maa Aankh cosmogram above you can see, there are no new ideas that are coming out of our subconscious because we are just reacting or surviving. This is the part of our being that functions on automatic and out of habit.  The new ideas come from the deeper parts of our awareness – the superconscious. This is where we get intuitive ideas and also where our ancestors and spirit guides can give us wise counsel.  You will also notice that this is where we get our dreams.

Spiritual culture as you can see is based upon this part of our being – our higher spirit or superconscious. It is not based upon making use of our higher spirit/self. This is the reason in the Story of Osar, Hru was finally able to defeat his uncle Set (that is do something new and improved) through the intercession of Osar. A thorough analysis of Japanese and Chinese history and culture will reveal that the reason they were able to bounce back on the world scene in a relatively short time.  Is because both of these countries embraced their folk ways, which consists of delving and tapping into their higher self (the superconscious). This is the reason why all throughout Asia you will find stalls where people can get detailed I-Ching oracle readings and partake in other practices that will help people align themselves with their higher spirit.

Fortune_teller_taiwan

Understand.  The true Kamitic has realized this and now uses his or her life as a sounding board for perfecting their understanding of the Divine within them and all people.

So, while other men and women are being swayed by half-truths, lies, and the inconsistencies of men through the various airwaves.  The true Kamitic, like other traditionalists and the traditionalists of old, are able to discern the truth and navigate through the malarkey.  Like a wise general and strike the enemy where he is most vulnerable like all of the great leaders of antiquity have done before them. Don’t be fooled by popular Greek inspired movies that depict the oracles as being either young virgin women or some old hag. These are all distorted images used by Holly-weird to discourage people from embracing the traditional ways that will liberate our soul. The true oracles were bones, shells and yarrow sticks, etc., which were used even in the bible (both the New and Old Testament). It was a practice that the ancient Hebrews learned from….Guess? That’s right…the Kamitic people for all those claiming that we were ancient Hebrews.  Our ancestors were not brought here from the East of Africa but the West of Africa, which is where the descendants of the Kamitic people fled to avoid Christian and Islamic onslaught.

That’s right. A true Kamitic or Kamite is revolutionary by nature in mind, body and spirit.

Hope that helps

Why Aren’t You Free Yet?

4 10 2014

Hetepu Family. Greetings

Have you ever thought about why after 400+ years, people are still marching and demanding that they be set free?  Well, as many of you know, I am the eldest son of a preacher who was groomed to be like my father. When I was growing up, the one thing I hated the most was when the adults who knew I was my father’s son would continue to comment and prophesied on how I would be a great preacher. Well, I proved them wrong by taking a completely alternative path to find God.  When I look back at how I decided to take this path, it comes to me that I was motivated to rebel against the church primarily out spite.

giftsusa.biz - 284 × 450 - Search by image

Unfortunately, because I spiritually left the church for the wrong reasons, even though I didn’t physically attend church, spiritually I was still a member.  You see, I still attended church spiritually because I still believed in the existence of a devil or some evil force that existed outside of me.  I remember when I was attending PVA&MU and was coming into the knowledge of self, I didn’t necessarily call this evil force the devil but I referred to it as different names depending upon one mode of thinking and who I was with.  When I changed my diet and adopted a vegetarian lifestyle this evil force was everything that was not vegan including the entire healthcare system.  When I was dealing with the Rasta I called this evil Babylon. When I got with the Five Percenters we called it the evil 10 %.  When I was just kicking it and dealing with the family that knew about secret societies, we called this evil force the Masons and other secret societies, all while claiming that we were gods and goddesses.

Things changed when I got ill and had to focus on improving my health. It was during this period of my life I began to reevaluate all that I believed. One of the things I realized was that you can’t get healthy by focusing on illness. In order to recover from an illness you have to focus on perfect health and the things you would do, if you were perfectly healthy.  It was this perspective that made see that everything happens for a reason and that from a holistic perspective, the purpose of illness is to reveal that there exists an imbalance.

Expounding upon this idea led me to see all of the fallacies of my beliefs and thinking. For instance, you can’t say that you are a god or goddess yet claim that there is a devil or some other evil force that exist and is out to get you. If you believe there is some evil force out to destroy you, then you are not a god or goddess, you are an angel opposing another angel, because technically speaking a God or Goddess has no equal called a devil.  Just like illnesses or ill-nesses reveal that there is an imbalance, the purpose of the devil is to also to reveal the imbalances that exist within your soul.

baphomet devil

When I made this discovery, it opened up the doors and led me to realize what some people might not want to hear but need to accept, that the devil is not some impish red-tailed, goat headed man running around tempting people to worship him and buy certain artists’ albums. No. The devil is within you – more specifically – it is your lower self, your subconscious self, or your ego self that has you living in the chains of fear.  It is that energy that makes you afraid to use the “Lord’s Name in vain” out of fear that you will be struck down.  It is that energy that makes you afraid to admit to your loved ones why you don’t go to church, to the temple or to the mosques.  That’s right, the devil is that energy that has you believing in the boogey man and romanticizing traditional African culture by claiming to accept everything Kamitic but refusing to embrace the Yoruba, Fon and other traditional African cultures because they honor their ancestors and worship so-called deities. You’re afraid to talk about anything magical and metaphysical because it is too close to Vodou/Voodoo. You will salute and honor the ancestral traditions of others, but for some odd reason refuse to acknowledge your own.  That’s right; meet your devil, the one that keeps telling you that your ancestors were all forced to accept Christianity, instead of acknowledging that many of them willingly converted to it. Yes, it is Fear.

Never Forget

Never Forget

Understand if you feel that you can’t do something because something bad is going to happen to you by you doing it with no true knowledge of it. You are essentially enslaved by fear.

It is a hard pill to swallow. I know it is but I got tired of living in fear and doing things that I didn’t agree with or weren’t going to help me. Once I decided to face my devil and ask the real reason why I left the church, I learned that it wasn’t because I did not like the prophesizing, but I had a real fear of the unknown. In my eyes, God had a bad habit of doing things just for the fun of it like the wager that was made between him and the devil. When I was younger and we would visit smaller churches around Detroit, I saw numerous struggling storefront preachers and it always made me wonder if God was just testing them.  I refused to be put in that situation where I had to live on faith and that’s the real reason why I left.  As soon as I acknowledged that, a mental wall came crumbling down and I found the book Conjuring Culture: Biblical Formations of Black America by Theophus H. Smith, which revealed that many of our ancestors understood the nature of their spirit (superconscious self), so they used the King James Bible as conjuring book – that is a book used to program their spirit self (subconscious and superconscious self). This is because they understood (even if they weren’t able to explain it metaphysically or psychologically) that the devil was within them. This is why many of the elders would read in the evening the Book of Proverbs.  Most of our elders all knew the 23rd Psalms and most likely made you to remember it as well or some other Psalms along with it.

moses

What many people need to understand is that the greatest atrocity that occurred due to slavery was convincing people that they were not already free, in other words gods and goddesses free to do whatsoever we willed. Many of our ancestors were aware of this which is why fictional or not, the biblical Moses became a spirit guide, an African American archetype and role model known as the great conjureman of the bible, who inspired the likes of Harriet Tubman and Dr. King.

Tubman

The point of this discourse is to help you to see that if you believe that the devil or some other evil force is out to get you, then you will see the bible and other holy books as being sacred books (or not) containing silly texts, used to save you from some evil and alien force that you fear.  And, unfortunately, that which you fear will only become stronger in your life. For instance, if you believe it is the devil, then devil will exist.  If you changed your diet out of fear becoming ill., guess what?  You will eventually become ill because what you are focusing on what you don’t want to happen.  It’s Murphy’s Law or the nature of the Spirit (See Maa).

Hru and Set - Fighting the Devil Within

Hru and Set – Fighting the Devil Within

If however, you accept that the only devil that exists in your life is that which you fear, and that fear exists only to reveal an imbalance.  Then you will see all texts as tools for tapping into your higher superconscious self in order to get what you want. For instance, instead of focusing on not getting diabetes, hypertension, etc. you focus on perfect health or maintaining perfect health.  Consequently, you get perfect health. You see, when a god or goddess understands that the devil is within them and it is their lower self they have to resist. When he or she says, “The Lord is my shepherd”, they know they are talking about their higher superconscious self, personified as Osar (Asar, Ausar, Osiris) within them who will guide them and give them the solution through supernatural means to overcome any obstacle as he had done his son Hru (Heru, Horus). You won’t care if certain characters in the bible or other holy books are real or not.

terror

Not only that, you won’t care about a lot of things.  Not that it isn’t important but as a god or goddess you know that you create your own reality through your own beliefs.  You are conscientious about your spirit and understand that all spiritual texts was specifically written to free your spirit.

Hope that helps. Peace

Have You Been Called? Understanding African Cosmology and the Calling Amongst African Americans

6 05 2013

Hetepu (Peace) Family.

Hope all is well. This is something that has really been on my mind since Malcolm X’s birthday is nearing and the rising disturbing actions and behaviors perpetrated by our youth in their desperate attempt to make money.  I have also wanted to address this issue about because some people have been asking if Kamta is a New Age thing.  So I have been letting this subject run around in my mind for a minute in order to address is appropriately.

Because shamanism has become such a very popular term to throw around by anyone claiming to be spiritual and not religious or refusing to follow the order of organized religion. I have decided to write this post to clarify, specify and distinguish Kamta from the New Age shamanistic movements. Please understand that I have nothing against New Agers because everything has its purpose, but I want to make it clear that this is not a trend.  I have to keep telling this story in order to raise consciousness, not because it is the trendy thing that is in fashion now, but because it is a Way of Life pertaining to my survival.

Kamta is a Spirit – led shamanic tradition based upon Kamitic (Ancient Egyptian) philosophy and Afrospiritual thought.  When the Africans were enslaved and brought to North America, unlike those taken to the Caribbean and South America, they were unable to maintain and retain all of their religious beliefs because their formal introduction spiritual system had been disrupted or simply destroyed. This along with the fact that there were various ethnic groups with different cultures and spiritual beliefs also made it difficult for the spiritual systems transported to Protestant Christian North America from Africa to survive. Fortunately, prior to the advent of the Slave Trade, many of the people from the Kongo region had willingly converted to Roman Catholicism or were at least familiar with the Christian faith due to their encounter with Portuguese merchants and missionaries.  Consequently, those Africans brought from the Kongo Angolan region were able to retain majority of their spiritual beliefs under the guise of Christianity. Although, they were not able to create or recreate a formal initiation system such as the ones that exist throughout the Afro diaspora, they were able to maintain an informal initiation system that follows what is commonly referred to as the Rule of the Sun.

Kongo_Cross

Kongo Cross (also called the Dikenga or Yowa)

The Rule of the Sun is based upon African Cosmology particularly the Yowa, Dikenga also called the Congo or Kongo Cross. The general understanding of the Kongo Cross is that the human soul like the sun rises, zeniths, sets and is reborn again to create another dawn. Spiritually speaking, we rise and peak in our awareness, but when we experience problems, setbacks, calamity, dishonor, illness, etc.  It is because we are spiritually dying or our sun/soul is setting in the West. The reason we spiritually die is because we have picked up impurities (egocentricities) from dwelling amongst the living in the physical world like selfishness, egotism, fear, etc.. So, spiritual death occurs in order to purify our soul. If we survive the problem, illness, fall from grace, etc.  It is believed that we have traveled to the spiritual world and were reborn like the dawning sun. So along with this core belief, early African Americans believed that when someone experienced a spiritual death.  It was because they were being Called to the spiritual world to obtain their spiritual gifts.  Although good and evil existed in the Kongo mind, the whole battle between the good and evil was seen as a way in which one finds his or her true Self.  In other words, it was seen as way to establish and maintain balance, so that an individual could learn to stand on the edge of both worlds.

Basic Kongo Cosmogram

Now the Calling in the African American community was similar to other shamanic societies, in the sense that those who were called at an early age displayed unusual birth signs such as being breeched, born with a caul over their head, having uncommon birthmarks and so on.  But, the most common form of calling in the African American community  was the fall from grace in which the individual after experiencing problems had some sort of epiphany or revelation.  This is because all adversity was seen as an individual going through a dying phase, because as one elder told me “You have to go through something, in order to get something.” This something that the individual must go through is of course the adversity and hardship of the physical world.  The something that the individual is going to get refers to their reward, their talent, purpose, destiny, etc. that will be obtained spiritually (or from the spiritual world).  This is why it is not uncommon to hear of individuals within the African American community today being “Called” to the pulpit to be a preacher.  In the olden days, the Calling was not just about being an evangelist.  The Calling pertained to doing any type of ministry (God or Spirit-led) work in regards to helping people in the community such as being a seer, a healer, prayer warrior, and so on.

Those familiar with African American folk beliefs will not understand the basis of Robert Johnson’s Crossroad Ritual and will now understand the reason what Johnson did was considered evil is because his blues music was not helping his community. It was only going to make him richer, which is why the man who allegedly teaches him was called the devil.

The Transformation from Malcolm Little to Malcolm X to El Hajj Malik Shabazz

The Transformation from Malcolm Little to Malcolm X to El Hajj Malik Shabazz

The Calling is a form of initiation based upon the Kongo Cross and it refers to being initiated and inducted into the spiritual fold to help the community. Like most initiations, which end of something old and the beginning or start of something new. It was understood that anytime an individual experienced any sort of unusual hardship, setbacks, obstacles, problems, etc. the individual was being Called.   This is the most accepted undocumented belief in the African American psyche.  It is the reason those individuals that have undergone a complete transformation such as the legendary Malcolm X (and a host of others), are so cherished in the African American community.  It is because African Americans like most people love a “comeback to grace” story and it is because the basis of our culture centers on the Rule of the Sun.

Because the Church became the most respected institution that white America during slavery (for the most part) would not meddle with.  Many of the people that were Called were given regular titles within the institution such as deacon, evangelist, missionary, etc. but there were also those who were known as Father, Papa, Poppa, Uncle, Brother, Mother, Momma, Auntie and Sister “so – and – so”.  Each of these individuals at some point in time assisted in the healing services that occur inside the church.

Contemporary Ring Shout

Like most shamanic traditions, African American religious service usually consists of a form of ritual called praise and worship, which consists of songs, music, dancing and trance called, filled with the Holy Ghost.  Next, the preacher that gives the congregation a message from God and at times can also include being prayed upon for healing using blessed oil.  The reason most people don’t think of it as being a shamanic trance induction service is because it is so norm and most people think that shamans are spooky witchdoctors running around with masks and bones in their nose chanting some unpronounceable language. A true shaman mediates between the spiritual world and physical world for his or her community. Everything that the shaman does is for the community because their spiritual development and advancement depends upon the people they serve. This is why typically those who were called in the African American community also did and continues to do something in regards to the church.

It is because of the Kongo Cross, anyone can participate in any form of African American spirituality (spiritual tradition, spiritual practices, folk practices, etc.) because it all centers on you going through something and surviving. It is simply put a spirituality that is based upon survival, which celebrates one’s success or victory over adversity.  And, this is what makes African American spirituality a form of shamanism.

Disney's Shadow Man of New Orleans

Disney’s Shadow Man of New Orleans

But, this form of spirituality has been steadily suppressed because in the early twentieth century, African Americans were routinely harassed and even imprisoned because of their religious beliefs. Today when people think of African religions or spirituality, it conjures up images of evil sorcerers. As a result, older African Americans familiar with this form of spirituality have often denied any association with it out of fear of being ostracized. Because African Americans were separated from the Motherland, in general unfamiliar with African cosmology and the old Kongo spiritual systems are nonexistent due to slavery and colonization. Slowly but surely, this system has continued to fade into extinction as the elders that followed and taught the system transition and are not able to pass their wisdom on to younger generations.

Emmett Till and Lil Wayne Controversy

Emmett Till and Lil Wayne Controversy

Today, a great cultural tragedy is occurring on several fronts. From one perspective, because of the lack of a cultural spiritual tradition, youths unfamiliar with their own ancestral history are mocking and ridiculing their heritage.  (i.e. the entertainer Lil Wayne).  This is also due to the fact that many still suffer from Afrohagiophobia, which according to http://www.mamiwata.com/part2.html.

“A pathological fear and irrational intimidation of African spiritual and esoteric science, ancestral veneration, and its ritual and cultural expressions. The simplest spirit manifestations that were once understood in their cosmological context, now “spooked” the newly conditioned generations of African-Americans.”

On the other hand, many people are exploring, searching, investigating, embracing, imitating and mimicking spiritual systems that are foreign to their culture and wondering why these systems are not working and helping them to bring money, peace of mind, or harmony to their relationships.  I am very well aware of the latter because I have put in my time researching and dabbling in various faiths and traditions myself. I have firsthand experience and know that if you do not belong to a particular cultural group, contrary to what anyone tells you. You are not going to get everything as the individual who is born into that culture.   There is going to be a lot of information that is going to be lost in the cultural translation.  A person born and raise Baptist, COGIC, Pentecostal, etc. and converts to Catholicism, Islam, Buddhism, Taoism, etc. is just not going to get everything because those spiritual systems are tailored to the cultures they serve.  I have even witnessed and talked to people who were involved in various African and Afro-American religions and they have told me about the indifferences that exist there as well.

Colonoware

So, here comes Kamta to save me.

After doing all of this research and studying all of these philosophies years ago. After trying to make a dying relationship with a “spiritual person” work and trying to incorporate all of these metaphysical ideas, I became deathly ill. Meaning, I almost died twice. How I survived was by throwing out everything that didn’t work and relying upon what I knew that did. I always have to tell people my story so that they can understand what happens when you don’t accept your calling, because it is real.

Queen Nzingah

Queen Nzingah

While I was undergoing my own rebirthing process that is when I began putting rhyme to reason and that’s how I learned about the Kongo people and our ancestral tradition, which can be traced back to the Ba-Ntu people who dwelled in Kamit/Kemet (Ancient Egypt).  It was because the original Kongo systems for the most part is nonexistent that Kamit/Kemet became the inspiration behind this system and I discovered the Maa Aankh cosmogram. By the way, this is totally within the Bantu-Kongo thinking because Kongo traditions have survived throughout the diaspora by adapting and modifying existing philosophies to fit their purpose.

Maa Aankh

So, the battle between good and evil is not seen as an eternal conflict between God and the devil, but between man and woman’s higher and lower selves allegorized as the battle between the Upper and Lower Lands of Kamit. It is the same Kongo concepts of the physical world above and the spiritual world below where one has to travel and meet Osar in order to be reborn, so that he or she can be stand on the edge of both worlds.

Unify Your Kingdom Within

Unify Your Kingdom Within

Now, the key differences between Kamta and other shamanistic systems is that everyone is called to do something because the Rule of the Sun is a way of introducing and inducting everyone into the cultural fold of communal service.  For instance, I have a cousin who just celebrated being drug free for 15 years now.  His ministry is helping other drug addicts.  He had to undergo that little experience in order to fulfill his purpose in life.  As I have mentioned before, since I have overcome and survived lupus. My responsibility has been to help others to do the same thing. This is one of my callings. There is a saying and it holds true for Kamta and it is, “Everyone is Called but only a few will answer.”

Maa Aankh Cosmology

Maa Aankh Cosmology

The point that I am trying to make is that we have our own spiritual traditions, our own ancestors, our own spirits and guides that we can work with and are willing to assist us out of this bind that we find ourselves in.  We do not have to make up, create or mimic another’s cultural tradition especially when they do not share our concerns and would not dowse us with water if we were on fire.  Our ancestors left us with all sorts of guides and maps.  We just have to use them.  So, I am writing this post to help you all to understand that if you have been called what you need to do, because the only ones who can tell you about it have either transitioned into the spiritual realm or are refusing to talk about it because they are suffering from Afrohagiphobia. Hopefully, this post will help you to understand why certain systems aren’t working for you and what you need to do to find your Maa (Way).

Sincerely, I hope this helps.

Kamta: Kamitic Shamanism

11 03 2011

Kamit (Kemet, Ancient Egypt) has been a source of inspiration for people all over the world, but to many people of African descent, who lost their cultural heritage due to the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. Kamit serves as a beacon of hope and a doorway, where all that has been lost through slavery can be found. The reason is because Kamit is the greatest, most memorable and the longest standing African civilization that was built. Thanks to the numerous contributions made by black and white scholars like Sir E.A. Wallis Budge, who went against his colleagues by stating in his book Osiris and the Egyptian Resurrection (1911),

“There is no doubt that the beliefs examined herein are of indigenous origin, Nilotic or Sundani in the broadest signification of the word, and I have endeavoured to explain those which cannot be elucidated in any other way, by the evidence which is afforded by the Religions of the modern peoples who live on the great rivers of East, West, and Central Africa . . . Now, if we examine the Religions of modern African peoples, we find that the beliefs underlying them are almost identical with those Ancient Egyptian ones described above. As they are not derived from the Egyptians, it follows that they are the natural product of the religious mind of the natives of certain parts of Africa, which is the same in all periods.”

Although it remains debated because no solid anthropological proof of has been found. Kamit is believed to be the ancestral homeland that many existing Sub-Saharan African cultures migrated from, to their present locations in Africa. This is based upon cultural correspondences that have been found between the Kamitic and other African cultures such as belief in One Supreme God, greater importance upon the Moon than Sun, transmigration of the soul, the importance of dreams, the significance of the color white and its association with the purity, the honorable ancestors and legendary deceased king Osar (Asar, Ausar, Osiris) known as Khenti-Amenti. What this means to many African descendants, is that those Africans that were enslaved and shipped to the Americas carried within them a cultural memory that unites them back to Kamit.

It is this cultural memory that survived mainly through the Kongo-Angolan lineage in North America, that was responsible for the development of the African American church. To this day, these post-Kamitic Kongo-Angolan cultural influences can still be seen amongst African Americans who wear white roses in honor of their ancestors. Who believe in the importance in dreams, recognize concepts like spiritual rebirth (especially through baptism), believe that when they die they will see their ancestors in the heavens, and although not a Christian concept, also believe that children are “old souls” or reincarnated ancestors.

It is these surviving cultural beliefs and practices, which I have syncretized with the Kamitic theology, African American folk beliefs and Afro-Caribbean Spiritism, that I call Kamta, which resides deep in our spirit.

It is through Kamta I discovered that we all have aakhu (ancestral spirits/spirit guides) that walk with us and never went away just because the dominant society suppressed the belief in them. Our aakhu encourage and inspire every aspect of our life, from the prosperity of our family, success in school, peace within our communities to our personal health and wellbeing.

We also have our share our aapepu (mischevious, malevolent, misguided spirits/ghosts) that create mischief in our life as well.  The aapepu, which means “snakes” or “worms” in the Kamitic language are like snakes that lay in our path. They cause us to become alarm when we see them because their negative influences encourages accidents, illness and chaos. This is why I see Set (the envious brother of Osar) as the Lord of the aapepu.

Fortunately, we also have netcharu (benevolent forces, angelic spirits or guardian spirits)  that walk with us and help us in our development. For instance, we all have an Npu (Enpu, Sobek, Sebek, Anubis) that acts as our personal guardian and guide. We all have an Osar, Oset and so on that is totally unique to us.

This cultural religious syncretism was made possible, because although the early African Americans brought to North America were not able to preserve all of our cultural traditions. They did manage to preserve enough precepts to provide their descendants with a road map on how to get back home culturally. Thanks to our ancestors we don’t have to adopt, borrow and imitate another’s culture. All we have to do is re-learn about our own.
